A Star in the Making🤩
You could already call Williams one of the best wideouts in CFB, and he’s doing this at just 17…
What were you doing at age 17? Alabama’s Ryan Williams isn’t even old enough to vote in November’s election, but he put the NCAA football world on notice about his candidacy as the next great wide receiver.
The hype around Ryan Williams is justified after the performance against Georgia!!
He’s no 1 hit wonder though as our graph illustrates…

Williams was all over college football news for his incredible display of athleticism in helping Alabama once again down Georgia in a 41-34 classic on Saturday night. From his dizzying talent to the shocking message in his eye black, Williams stole the show with 177 receiving yards and the game-winning touchdown.
Ryan Williams is 17 years old out there making grown men look silly on 75 Yard Touchdown catch and RUN.
Think I saw him “Moss” a guy then go for a find 2-split 2 into a Reggie Bush step back to a Tyreek Hill sprint down the sideline. 🤯 pic.twitter.com/z0Xt3iUvfy

Alabama football has been an absolute powerhouse in recruiting wide receivers and turning them into stars at the collegiate and professional levels. The recent list includes Julio Jones, Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley, Jerry Jeudy, Jaylen Waddle, and DeVonta Smith.
In 2020, Smith pulled off the rare feat of a wide receiver winning the Heisman Trophy. Could Williams follow in his footsteps as the new biggest thing in CFB?

Who Is Alabama’s 17-Year-Old Football Player?
The Alabama Crimson Tide have really outdone themselves this time. Williams was born and bred in Mobile, Alabama. In 2022, as a high school sophomore, he caught 88 balls for 1,641 yards and 24 touchdowns, making him an instant star and the first sophomore to win Alabama Mr. Football, which he won again in 2023, making him the only two-time winner of that award.
Alabama is getting a special talent in Five-Star Plus+ WR Ryan Williams:
-2x Alabama Gatorade POY
-2022 Mr. Football Winner (1st sophomore to win award)
-2022 State Champion (MVP)
-5000+ Total All-Purpose Yards
-80 Total TDs3 year HS Career (reclass) 🤯… pic.twitter.com/6q8YbUncnr

A five-star recruit, he reclassified to 2024 by skipping his senior year of high school and it is already paying dividends with an incredible 4-game start at Alabama, the only natural choice of school for him.
Williams leads all FBS receivers with 28.9 yards per reception this season, and he’s already amassed 462 yards (115.5 per game) and 5 touchdowns. Even speedster DeVonta Smith needed three years of college under his belt before he averaged more than 100 yards per game when he won the Heisman with 142.8 yards per game and 23 touchdown catches in 2020.
Ryan Williams should be asking teachers to use the restroom at 17 not cooking sec defenses lmao pic.twitter.com/2QtZFF7oZc

You could already call Williams one of the best wideouts in CFB, and he’s doing this at just 17 years old. At that age, my idea of “playing football” was firing up Madden 2004 for PlayStation 2, playing Practice mode, and using Michael Vick to run 30 yards backward behind the 50-yard line and throw a deep bomb to the end zone.
Williams is doing video game things on the field.
People use the term generational way way way too often. Ryan Williams is generational https://t.co/xlKAv4S5oi

The Sky Is the Limit for Williams
His nickname is “Hollywood” and Williams might even deserve it more than Antonio Brown’s cousin Marquise. But in playing a position known to produce some real divas, you can already get some sense that Williams is going to be a headline-maker for years to come.
In addition to his big game against Georgia, he made national news for having the phrase “Kill Everybody” in his eye black. You won’t be able to do that in the NFL, but his skills might help him kill opposing defenses for a long time.
17 years old, tattoo sleeves, turkish veneers, and eye tape that says kill everybody… ryan williams is a damn menace pic.twitter.com/Gchfnub0VI

Wideout has become such a premium position with the top players earning over $30 million per season. With the way Alabama develops these players, you have to think Williams has high potential to be a dominant player on Sundays in a few years.
Even then, he’ll still be too young to buy alcohol.
