‘Overtly Committed’ to North Carolina
Though he’s 72, there are plenty of teams that might want him in the future.
Bill Belichick has only been in college for a matter of weeks now but that hasn’t stopped rumors of him going back to the NFL from spreading. With teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders looming, there’s been a lot of speculation that the coach will turn his back on UNC.
However, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson took to Instagram to confirm that she and Belichick are “overtly committed” to North Carolina.

This essentially puts to bed the notion that Belichick will leave UNC football before coaching a game for them. Nothing can be ruled out completely but Bill Belichick’s new job could give the coach a chance to reignite his passion for football.
He’s arguably the greatest NFL coach now and if he has success in college, he may go down as the greatest overall football coach of all time.
NFL Will Continue to Loom Large
Belichick heading to the NCAA is one of the biggest college football news stories in recent years. Typically, coaches go from college to the NFL and stay there, especially if they don’t have an extensive background at the college level.
Belichick started coaching in the NFL in 1975 and stayed there for nearly five decades. This is the first time he’s held an official position on a college coaching staff.

While he clearly knows a lot about football, college is so much different than the NFL. Is he going to be able to connect with players enough to have success recruiting and keeping top players from entering the transfer portal? As long as he’s in college, the NFL is going to loom over him. Though he’s 72, there are plenty of teams that might want him in the future.
It’ll be interesting to see just how long he’ll stick around at UNC.
