Football Season Is Back! ๐Ÿˆ

What an epic start to the season with this rematch of the Cotton Bowlโ€ฆ

While the 2025 NFL schedule is dominating the news this week, letโ€™s not overlook the big college football news on the early portion of the 2025 schedule getting released.

Known as Week 0, there will be four games played on Saturday, August 23, 2025, including one in Dublin, Ireland, between Kansas State and Iowa State. Five days later, the Week 1 schedule swings into action with the full slate of schools playing college football games all the way through Monday, September 1.

Before you know it, the college football rankings will be out, and the season will be here. But we thought weโ€™d rank the five biggest games from Weeks 0-1, as there are plenty of storylines to follow with these matchups already.

5. Alabama at Florida State

Two spoiled fan bases, the 2024 season was tough for both. Alabama slipped to 9-4 and didnโ€™t qualify for the expanded playoffs in the teamโ€™s first season without Nick Saban. But no one fell as hard as the Seminoles, who went from 13-1 to 2-10 after losing so many players to the NFL and transfer portal.

But an upset win over Alabama would be one way to get FSU fans back on board.

4. Georgia Tech at Colorado

Deion Sanders thinks heโ€™s changed the culture at Colorado, but weโ€™ll see how he fares without his son Shedeur as his quarterback and without Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. He coached the past four years at Jackson State and Colorado.

If you follow college football scores closely, you know Georgia Tech is no stranger to upsets, but they are actually favored slightly to win this one right now.

3. Notre Dame at Miami (FL)

Cam Ward did an incredible job of leading Miami to the most points per game in the nation last year. But heโ€™s gone, so theyโ€™ll have to make do with a new quarterback as they look to recreate their success on that side of the ball against a very tough Notre Dame defense that helped the Irish reach the national championship game.

2. TCU at North Carolina

You normally wouldnโ€™t be this hyped for TCU-North Carolina, but what a game this could be on a Monday night with NFL coaching legend Bill Belichick going to college to try turning a basketball school into a successful football program.

Of course, if youโ€™ve been following the NCAAF rumors, you know thereโ€™s a possibility Belichick wonโ€™t make it to Week 1 with all the off-field distractions surrounding his young girlfriend Jordon Hudson, a story thatโ€™s only heating up as we get closer to the season when girlfriends become secondary to the grind.

Yeah, that should go well with a 24-year-old girl. Good luck, Bill.

1. Texas at Ohio State

What an epic start to the season with this rematch of the Cotton Bowl, and this time, Quinn Ewers wonโ€™t be there to fumble for a decisive touchdown.

Ohio Stateโ€™s title defense starts with a very tough game against Texas, and this is the Arch Manning show as he looks to compete for the Heisman and the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. What a great opportunity to take on the defending champs, who lost a lot of key players on both sides of the ball to the NFL.
