Draft Night, But Make It Boulder 🏔️

[Shedeur and Hunter] want to celebrate with our people, with our folks… – Coach Prime

Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, two of the biggest names heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, are skipping the whole live-on-stage draft event. No dramatic walk to the podium, no Goodell bro hugs, no weird suits to dissect on social media. Instead, they’re celebrating in Colorado. Coach Prime confirmed it—it’s campus vibes over Lambeau Field.

‘With Our People’

Coach Prime (Deion Sanders) explained the move on The Rich Eisen Show, saying, “You won’t see us [at the draft]. We’re good, man. [Shedeur and Hunter] want to celebrate with our people, with our folks, with our wonderful student body.” Translation: They’re throwing a party at Boulder instead of playing into the NFL’s televised spectacle. Cool for them. Less cool for us and college football news.

I get it, though. Between Hunter constantly defending himself online against college football rumors and all the drama with the internet (looking at you, Leanna Lenee nonsense), maybe they just want a less toxic vibe. Still, bro… reeeally? Watching players get drafted is peak hope-core material. It’s what we live for—those life-changing moments that make you irrationally emotional about strangers.

Where Are They Going?

Shedeur Sanders is projected as a top-three pick, linked to teams like the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, and Las Vegas Raiders. Travis Hunter? He’s hovering around the top two, maybe three (hello, his Travis Hunter stats), with the New York Giants looking like the most likely landing spot. Both are locks for the first round in college football betting odds and if you’re not watching to see which team’s fans cry or cheer, what’s even the point?

The NFL draft is set for April 25-27, so mark your calendar. Even if we don’t get a Sanders-Hunter red carpet moment, the drama of where they land will still be worth tuning in for… probably.

So yeah, Shedeur and Travis, enjoy your Boulder bash. But next time, maybe toss us a bone? Draft night deserves its stars, and we deserve the drama.
