Bill Belichick may not be coaching football this season but he’ll be staying close to NFL games. According to NFL news, Bill Belichick’s new job will be working on Inside the NFL for The CW.

“Bill Belichick joining ‘Inside the NFL’ is a true game-changer for this storied franchise and The CW,” president of The CW Network Dennis Miller said in a statement.

“Not only is he one of the most accomplished coaches in NFL history, but his knowledge and passion for football is truly unmatched. Fans will now get the chance to hear his insights and better understand the nuances of the game from the master himself. We cannot wait for Bill, Ryan, Chad, and Chris to deliver a championship-caliber show all season long.”

Many may not have expected Belichick to join the media ranks after his NFL career due to how prickly he’s always been with the media. However, he probably got a fat check sent his way. Plus, Belichick is actually pretty great on TV.

He’s a terrible interview during the season but he’s proven that he can be really engaging when he’s in a neutral football setting. There’s no denying he has one of the strongest football minds ever and should be a very good addition to Inside the NFL. This is a logical move for Belichick after not landing a head coaching job this offseason.

Will Belichick Coach Again?

Belichick might go down as the greatest NFL coach ever. He has eight total Super Bowl rings (two as an assistant, six as a head coach). No head coach has more Super Bowl wins than him. In fact, only one coach has more than four.

However, he burned a lot of bridges to win those Super Bowls. It’s no secret that Belichick is as cutthroat as anybody in the NFL. He’s also been caught cheating before. Plus, he treats a lot of the people around him like crap. It’s fine when he’s winning Super Bowls but he missed the playoffs in three of the last four years.

Personally, if I was an NFL owner, I’d stay away from him. We can all agree that he’s brilliant at football but he’s going to cost a lot of money and he’s old. How old is Bill Belichick? He’s 72 and will be 73 when next season starts.

Now, I could see a team that already has a franchise quarterback that’s close to contending but has coaching issues giving him a call. The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are the most obvious teams that come to mind. Other than them, I don’t see why any team would want to sign up for the Belichick experience, which hasn’t proven to be successful without Tom Brady.
