This one is an important one because of, you know, all that we went through this year. – Caleb Williams

There was arguably no team more disappointing this season than the Chicago Bears. Some people even predicted that they could make the Super Bowl. Instead, nothing went right and they fired head coach Matt Eberflus in the middle of the year.

However, they were able to end the season on a high note. The team beat their archrival Green Bay Packers in Week 18 for the first time since 2018 and Caleb Williams’ stats were solid. The Bears QB completed 21-of-29 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown.

The Bears did finish the season with a bad 5-12 record in NFL games but they can at least feel a bit better heading into the offseason. This roster still has a lot of talent and Chicago could make big NFL news by hiring a star head coach in the offseason. NFL betting odds likely won’t be as kind to the Bears next season but they still could be very good with the right coaching.

Caleb Williams Talks Win Over Packers

Caleb Williams was supposed to come into the NFL and be an immediate superstar. That wasn’t the case as he was inconsistent all season. Despite being the top quarterback taken in the draft, he was outperformed by fellow rookie quarterbacks Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix.

However, he still showed plenty of flashes of the talent that made him the top pick. He spoke about the Bears’ big win and why it was such an important one for the team.

“First of all, this one is an important one because of, you know, all that we went through this year,” Williams said after the win. “And that’s first and foremost. The next one would be, you know, we haven’t… I’ve been learning the history about the Bears. We haven’t beat Green Bay. I think they said here, since 2015 and then we haven’t beat them in, like, the past 12 times we played them, and so one, that’s a start, and that’s a good start to the 2025 season.”

Beating the Packers in Year 1 is certainly something that Williams should be proud of and should help build momentum heading into the offseason.
