I’d Pay to Watch Him Fight

Taylor Swift is finally dating in her league and no longer canoodling with D-list actors…

According to celebrity news reports back in October, fans were joking online that Travis Kelce pushed Taylor Swift’s security detail at the SNL after-party. He addressed the celebrity rumors on the New Heights podcast, explaining that he simply placed his hand on her security guard’s back to let him know he would be helping the pop star out of the car.

This display of masculinity had fans questioning whether he could truly be trusted to protect America’s sweetheart and swifties everywhere asking, “Can Travis Kelce fight?”

Well, after Sunday’s game, it’s looking good for the eight-time Pro Bowler.

The Chiefs had a rough start in Las Vegas during Week 12, but they gained momentum back and defeated the Raiders with a final score of 31-17. The victory improved Kansas City’s season record to 8-3, giving them confidence after suffering a loss to Jason Kelce and the Eagles last week. Kelce played remarkably well in this game and finished with six receptions for 91 yards.

During the game, Taylor’s boyfriend found himself in a bit of a tussle with Raiders defensive back Amik Robertson in the early stages of the third quarter. He pushed him, then turned to shove defensive tackle Jerry Tillery.

Travis Kelce’s fighting prowess wasn’t the only noteworthy event that occurred during Sunday’s matchup.

He also made NFL news by setting a new record for fastest tight end to reach 11,000 receiving yards with only 154 NFL games—beating out Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez’s previous record of 191 games. He is also the fourth tight end to hit this milestone, as Gonzalez still holds the overall record at 15,127 yards, while former Cowboys player Jason Witten is second with 13,036, and Antonio Gates from the Chargers is third with 11,841.

The Kansas City Chiefs celebrated Kelce’s achievement on Instagram, writing: “Fastest tight end to 11k receiving yards AND the only player in franchise history to do it.”

Taylor Swift showed her approval by liking the post—similar to what she did earlier this month when Kelce broke the franchise record for total receiving yards during a game against the Dolphins in Germany.

It’s a tale as old as time: The beautiful date the beautiful. Champions date other champions.

I’m just glad Taylor Swift is finally dating in her league and no longer canoodling with D-list actors (sorry, Joe Alwyn, I’m sure you have great qualities. Just not Taylor Swift-great.)
