Shady Brady?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Brady decides that he’d rather focus on the Raiders than being a broadcaster…

Tom Brady’s professional life is starting to get the most interesting it has been since he retired from playing in NFL games. The legendary quarterback is a big story in NFL news right now as he appears to be running the Las Vegas Raiders’ head coaching search behind the scenes after becoming a part owner late last year.

That could be great for the Raiders as they landed an interview with Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who is considered the best of the available candidates. However, Brady is now starting to face backlash.

Tom Brady’s Fox contract allows him to speak with teams closely before he covers their games as a commentator. He’s set to cover next week’s Lions-Commanders playoff game and he’ll have a chance to spend some time with Johnson.

That gives the Raiders a potential advantage when it comes to trying to woo the coach. There’s not really much the NFL can do to stop this from happening right now but fans think the league needs to step in.

Does the NFL Need to Keep Brady From Talking to Johnson?

The odds that Johnson and Brady talk Raiders football ahead of one of the biggest games of his life are unlikely. The two already had a chance to speak in a recent virtual interview. Brady is also a professional and likely doesn’t want to make Fox look bad.

Regardless, fans, especially Chicago Bears fans, don’t think it’s fair that Brady gets to meet with Johnson in this setting.

Look, I wouldn’t be surprised if Brady decides that he’d rather focus on running the Raiders than being a broadcaster once the season is over. For now, fans are just going to have to deal with it.

If Johnson wants to go to the Bears, he can go to the Bears. Meeting with Brady for a couple of hours before a game isn’t going to tilt anything in the Raiders’ favor.
