A lot of big guys can’t move the way Dez can move… – Cam Jackson
Florida defensive tackle Desmond Watson is making NFL news as the league’s annual meat market draws near, and fans are wondering if any team is willing to spend a late-round draft pick on the gargantuan 464-pounder.
We have never seen a player like Desmond Watson play football before.

Tush Push Terminator
The Philadelphia Eagles‘ “tush push” has been so effective in NFL games that the league is considering banning the play. Because of course they would; it works, right?! Let’s understand that the tush push is available to any team that so chooses to use it, but it just so happens that the Super Bowl champion Eagles do it, like most other things, better than anyone else.
Anyway, let’s hope the NFL powers that be remain lucid and keep the play intact, and may the biggest tush push win. But speaking of the tush push, how about the prospect of drafting an industrial refrigerator with feet who could very well terminate the tush push based on his sheer girth and strength? He could be known as “The Constipator” because nothing gets through him.
“Please ban the tush push it’s unfair!”

The man in question is none other than Desmond Watson, a 6’6”, 464-pound avalanche of a man who was not invited to the NFL Combine. However, his 36 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press at his NFL Pro Day would have bested Cincinnati guard Luke Kandra’s 33 reps at the Combine. Watson also posted a 6’10 broad jump, a 25-inch vertical leap, and a 5.93 40-yard dash.
DAWG: Florida defensive tackle Desmond Watson recorded 36 bench press reps at his Pro Day, which would have been the most at the #NFL Combine by 3 reps.
Watson is 6-foot-6 and weighs 464 POUNDS.
He will be the heaviest player in NFL history.

Before we get all silly about a relatively slow 40, let’s understand this is not the player who will be running from sideline to sideline chasing down running backs. He does one thing, plugs the middle, and when he wraps those big arms around the man with the ball, it’s like being gobbled up by a black hole. There is no light, no hope, only darkness.
464-POUND DT DESMOND WATSON RAN A 5.86 40-YARD DASH—WHICH IS INSANELY FAST 🤯
Using his weight & speed, here’s what he’d run at lighter weights:
O-lineman: 300 lbs: 4.71
Tight end: 255 lbs: 4.34
Running back: 225 lbs: 4.08
Wide receiver: 210 lbs: 3.94 pic.twitter.com/uP4PSpfsZ7

People Are Talking
Naturally, Desmond Watson’s weight is what catches everyone’s eye. If a team is willing to take a chance, he will be the heaviest player ever drafted. NFL rumors suggest he will be no higher than a seventh-round pick, but joining a team as a walk-on free agent is more likely.
But there’s more to this massive man than meets the eye—who finished his collegiate career with 63 tackles and 1½ sacks and never missed a game in four years. If we listen to what his teammates and coaches say about him, we can see for ourselves that there is plenty of character to go along with all that size.

“Dez, obviously, he’s a unicorn,” Gators coach Billy Napier said. “You’ll go the rest of your career, and you’ll never be around a guy that’s that stature. And then you get to know Dez. He’s extremely intelligent. He’s got a great sense of humor. He was a great teammate.”
“Obviously showed up in good shape today, so he’ll get his shot, and I’m hoping he’ll make the most of it.”
Watson’s teammate, and fellow defensive tackle, Cam Jackson, said, “Dez came out here and really shocked a lot of the scouts, especially when he ran his 40,” defensive tackle Cam Jackson said. “I feel like he shocked a lot of people. A lot of big guys can’t move the way Dez can move.”
I find it hard to believe there isn’t a team out there that believes this man isn’t worth spending a seventh-round pick. Hell, even if all he did was terminate the tush push, that would pay a dividend well worth the investment.
Demond Watson is a no-risk bet in the final round, so why not take it?.
