41 Seems Like a Good Age to Retire
It would be better for everyone for Rodgers to move on at 41 years old…
The only way to see Aaron Rodgers when the fall rolls around may be on Netflix, at least if the latest NFL news is true. Rodgers faces an uncertain future with the word “retirement” being connected with the darkness retreat king.
The star quarterback is technically under contract to play for the Jets in 2025, but Rodgers has not looked like quite the same quarterback since arriving in New York City. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that there is a buzz that Rodgers may be prepared to retire this offseason.
Aaron Rodgers on reports that people close to him have said he is likely to retire:

“But I’m just trying to think of a logical place for him to play and I can’t think of one,” an AFC executive told Fowler. “I’m guessing he doesn’t want to go to a rebuild.
And if you’re a contender, I’m not sure they want to take on Aaron Rodgers and all that comes with that. So, he might just come to the conclusion that he’s done.”
Wait, How Old Is Aaron Rodgers?
Honestly, it feels like it would be better for everyone for Rodgers to move on at 41 years old. That said, if they are still going to pay you a lot of money to play football, it is hard to argue with continuing to play NFL games.
I am old enough to remember when the Jets were being anointed as instant contenders after signing Rodgers. Yet, it’s been the same old J-E-T-S since Rodgers moved into town, just with more drama. Aaron Rodgers stats simply aren’t the same as the guy we saw in Green Bay.
What Team Would Fit A-Rod if the Star QB Plays in 2025?
Let’s say Rodgers ignores my advice and continues to cash those checks next season. Rodgers’s three-year, $112 million contract is slated to run through the 2025 season.

Perhaps the two parties come up with a creative solution to mutually part ways. We will see what new head coach Aaron Glenn has to say about Rodgers.

Let’s say Rodgers wants to play elsewhere, what other teams make some sense? The Steelers just made the playoffs with Russell Wilson as a bridge quarterback. Both Wilson and Justin Fields are free agents.
The Raiders are in need of a quarterback and may not be able to get Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders in the NFL draft. What about Rodgers’ former rivals in Minnesota? We just saw Sam Darnold (!) lead this talented Vikings roster to 14 wins before imploding.
.@ChaseDaniel on whether Aaron Glenn should want Rodgers back as Jets QB:

There is also Rodgers’ current neighbor in New York if the Giants miss out on Ward or Sanders. NFL betting odds are likely to continue fading the Jets as long as Rodgers is the team’s QB1.
