TB12’s Comeback?

I’m not opposed to it. – Tom Brady

Now that Tom Brady is free of the constraints of marriage, he can do whatever he wants. That could include a return to the NFL. We all know that he plans to buy a piece of the Las Vegas Raiders but that might not be enough to scratch his football itch.

In a recent appearance on DeepCut with VicBlends, Brady was given a scenario that would involve him returning to football to join a team that is in the playoff hunt but loses their starting quarterback to injury. He would only have to lead this team in the playoffs.

“I’m not opposed to it,” Brady said.

Tom Brady’s new girlfriend Irina Shayk would have to be cooler with the idea of him playing than Gisele Bündchen was but they aren’t married, so it shouldn’t be a problem. I mean, if Brady still believes he can play at a high level, then why not play again? He’s going to reach a point where his body physically won’t be able to take hits. Brady could just be having a run but it would be the biggest NFL news story of the year if he returned.

Tom Brady is Getting Old

After Tom Brady’s retirement, he made it clear that he doesn’t plan to come back. There were plenty of NFL teams interested in him last year but he decided to step away. While Brady was still playing at a high level, it’s hard to ignore the fact that he’ll be 47 when the 2024 season starts.

George Blanda was the oldest player ever at 48 so it’s been done before but that was also the 70s. Brady may be single now but he still has kids and business ventures he’s gotta work on. Plus, if he gets approved to be a part-owner in the Raiders, it will require approval from 24 of 32 owners for him to play.

It just seems way too complicated for it to be worth it for Brady. That said, if he won a Super Bowl with a third team at 47, it’s hard to imagine anybody will ever come close to his status as the GOAT, even Patrick Mahomes.
