Star Power 🤩

The NFL loves a good PR spin job and this Netflix press release is no different…

Fans awaiting the next season of the Netflix hit “Quarterback” may be disappointed to learn of the latest NFL news. There will not be a new season of the popular QB show.

Instead, Netflix is pivoting to “Receiver” where star playmakers like Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, and Davante Adams are among those featured in the docu-series.

Should you watch the series or hit next on your Netflix list?

Netflix Got Kirk Cousins PAID

No one appreciated the “Quarterback” show more than Kirk Cousins who I am convinced landed a $180 million deal out of the series. That’s a lot of plaid shirts at Kohl’s.

Cousins watched his approval rating among fans skyrocket after the show went viral.

Jokes aside, I don’t think the show will take a major step back with the absence of the quarterbacks. There is still plenty of star power with Jefferson, Kittle, Adams, Deebo Samuel, and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

There is no specific release date yet, but the NFL announced the series will resume this summer just as the debut season dropped in 2023. It is a perfect time given there are no NFL games during this dead period on the schedule.

Who Are We Most Looking Forward to Watching?

I’m definitely planning to watch the show, but it remains to be seen whether it can replicate the success of following star quarterbacks. Who should you be most looking forward to watching?

Kittle is a must-see television any time there is a mic ’d-up segment. I feel like Jefferson and St. Brown are more of a mystery and it will be fun to get to know these players more in the coming months.

QBs Told Netflix: ‘Nah, We’re Good’

The NFL loves a good PR spin job and this Netflix press release is no different. The reality is this “new series” exists because the company could not find enough quarterbacks willing to get the camera crew treatment last season.

You know you have a problem when quarterbacks like Daniel Jones are turning you down. Some of the other QBs who swiped left on the Netflix offer included Dak Prescott, Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, and Trevor Lawrence.

Curious about what position the show will hit in 2025. Feels like a good time to give the running backs some love.

This would also be a good group of rookie quarterbacks to follow. Let the NFL rumors begin.
