Netflix probably isn’t going to be streaming NFL games anytime soon but they are getting involved in the league. Last year, they dropped the “Quarterback” docuseries, which followed Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota through the 2022 season.

This year, not many quarterbacks were interested in joining the show so NFL rumors revealed that Netflix pivoted to “Receiver,” which followed some of the best pass catchers in the league through the NFL schedule.

Netflix just dropped the trailer, which features Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Amon-Ra St. Brown through the 2023 season.

This should be a very interesting season as we’ll see two players who had tough seasons in Adams and Jefferson while also seeing players who made deep playoff runs in Kittle, Samuel, and St. Brown. “Quarterback” was a big hit and they only had three quarterbacks for that. Jumping up to five players across four teams should lead to more widespread interest.

What to Expect from ‘Receiver’

Netflix got some serious heavy hitters for “Receiver.” Adams is the best older wide receiver in the NFL while Jefferson and St. Brown are two of the best young pass catchers in the game. Samuel is a unique player who also takes snaps as a running back.

Kittle isn’t a wide receiver as he plays tight end. That said, he’s had over 1,000 receiving yards in three seasons. Every receiver shows their unique personality, Jefferson is super flashy while Adams takes himself very seriously.

Kittle is a wild man and St. Brown has blue hair. It’s going to make for some really good TV. Quarterbacks are mostly the same as they all need to be very professional at all times. Receivers can get a little crazier, which should be great for NFL news.
