GOAT Statue 🐐
Let the NFL rumors begin about how the 12-foot bronze statue will look.
The New England Patriots are in the NFL news to honor Tom Brady with an announcement you had to know was coming. They are adding one statue to Tom Brady’s stats, with the ceremony’s date revealed on Thursday.
Big Recognition
Thursday was also June 12th, or 6/12, which the Patriots refer to as “Tom Brady Day” in Massachusetts for six Super Bowl wins and his jersey number. Sure, they can promote that idea, but if Brady got to choose the date for his own day, he’d no doubt prefer to celebrate July 12th (7/12), given he has seven rings. But I guess the Patriots shouldn’t take credit for him leaving for Tampa Bay in 2020.

The next chance they get to play NFL games at Gillette Stadium this preseason, when they host the Washington Commanders on August 8, five days after Brady’s 48th birthday, the Patriots will unveil the Brady statue.
Let the NFL rumors begin about how the 12-foot bronze statue will look. Is it Brady giving the “aww shucks” pose after winning Super Bowl 36 in New Orleans? Is it him looking to intensely head-butt a teammate while screaming “let’s go!” to him? Will he be throwing a football like how the Dirk Nowitzki statue captured his shooting stance? Lots of options to pick from.
Nothing can probably top the butcher job they did in Miami with the Dwyane Wade statue last year, which laughably looked nothing like him.

Also, they probably couldn’t do any worse for Brady’s likeness than the infamous courtroom sketch from the Deflategate saga:

We’ll find out on August 8, 2025.
Brady and Patriots Looking for Bigger 2025 Seasons
No matter how many teams he gets involved with after leaving New England, no matter how high that Tom Brady net worth gets with FOX and as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, he’ll always be best remembered as a Patriot.
Interestingly enough, Brady’s Raiders – still sounds weird to say – will open the 2025 NFL regular season in New England against the Patriots and new coach Mike Vrabel. Brady will likely be somewhere else calling a game for FOX like the Lions vs. Packers matchup that afternoon. But I’m sure he’ll have a keen interest in how that game goes at Gillette Stadium.

Brady is looking for a stronger second season in the booth, calling games with Kevin Burkhardt. Maybe more analysis and less “they got the juice” talk. It’d help if he had more close games to call and wasn’t stuck calling a Dallas Cowboys rout week after week, but we’ll see what off-season adjustments Brady has made in the booth.
Go figure, he got to call a Super Bowl – albeit one of the worst ever played – in his first season on the job.
Meanwhile, the Patriots just hope to return to relevance without Brady. They haven’t won a playoff game since Super Bowl 53 in the 2018 season. There’s some real excitement for Vrabel coaching young quarterback Drake Maye and wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
The Patriots just finished last in the AFC East in consecutive years, something they hadn’t done since 2000, the year Brady was drafted. Let his statue be a constant reminder of how things used to be in that stadium.
