‘Quarterback’ has taken the world by storm and fans want S2 ASAP

Joe Burrow should be the first call that Netflix makes…

For the first season of the docuseries, fans were able to get a closer look at Patrick Mahomes, Marcus Mariota, and Kirk Cousins. With the NFL latest news that season two is happening, there will be no shortage of interesting quarterbacks for Netflix to choose from.

Mahomes is the face of the NFL but arguably his biggest rival is Joe Burrow. He’d be the obvious pick to headline season two. He’s charismatic as all hell and has cemented himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Unless he’s completely unwilling to do it, he should be the first call that Netflix makes.

Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills should also be on the shortlist. He’s another one of Mahomes’ top rivals and is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. As the Bills are about to enter a fascinating season, it’d be interesting to get some more insight into Allen and his personal life, especially now that the NFL rumors of him dating Hollywood A-lister Hailee Steinfeld were confirmed.

Lamar Jackson would be another player that Netflix should be going after. He finally got his big contract but it took a lot of work for the Baltimore Ravens to give him what he wanted. It’d be worthwhile to get a closer look at his thought process regarding the situation. It also helps that he’s such a dynamic athlete that plays the position of quarterback differently than the other guys previously mentioned.

Now, if Netflix wants to feature some smaller names as they did with Mariota in season one, there’s no shortage of options. Jimmy Garoppolo with the Las Vegas Raiders would have to be fascinating. He’s entering a bumpy situation in Las Vegas. If the goal is strictly entertainment value, Netflix would have to consider Baker Mayfield. His play has been erratic on the field but he’s one of the most outspoken quarterbacks in the NFL. He’d definitely drop some good quotes. Geno Smith is a quote machine for the Seattle Seahawks so he’d be another good option.

Netflix could also consider going the rookie route. Anthony Richardson seems to have a good sense of humor and just wants to have fun. He’d be a great player to feature. However, it remains to be seen how much he’s going to play this season. Will Levis would be another fascinating rookie to watch but it’s unlikely he sees the field much in 2023.

Luckily for Netflix, almost every quarterback in the NFL is going to be interesting in some ways. They really can’t go wrong with any of the aforementioned options. However, trying to land a big fish like Burrow or Allen would certainly help get NFL news headlines and get the hype train going for season two.
