He’s a Baaad Man….on the Field 😄
He’s gone through a lot of sh*t in the last three years… – Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers made NFL news when he took a flamethrower to the media on the Pat McAfee Show regarding their character assassinations of Jets’ quarterback Zach Wilson, who reportedly didn’t want to return to his starting role.
The Jets’ hopes for a promising season ended with Aaron Rodgers injury just four snaps into the 2023 NFL season. The torn Achilles Rodgers sustained was nothing compared to the heart removal that Jets Nation suffered after realizing Rodgers was likely done for the season.

Zach Wilson was immediately summoned to take over under center for the future Hall of Famer and with the team now sitting at 4-8 on the season despite a top-tier defense, needless to say, he’s struggled. And although Wilson has plenty of detractors, upset that he is simply another high first-round quarterback that has not panned out for the franchise, Aaron Rodgers is not one of them.
Recently, Rodgers was a guest on the Pat McAfee Show and called a report that stated Wilson did not want to take the field after the Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian experiments ended in disaster “chickensh*t at its core.”
If you didn’t already know, Rodgers has become like a big brother to Wilson and says he “loves” the kid. On the show, Rodgers torched the media responsible for the latest batch of NFL rumors, stating, “First of all, you can go down a whole rabbit hole with actual sources, made up sources, why is someone willing to be a source. What are they gaining out of that?”
“On and on and on, but when you use sources and, whether intentional or unintentional, try to assassinate someone’s character like that report does for Zach, I have a real hard time with that.”

The 4x MVP was not done with his tirade and added, “How can you read it any other way? You’re basically saying this kid is quitting on the team doesn’t want to play and is giving the middle finger to the organization.”
“I don’t want to speak for him. He’s going to get a chance this week to speak and I’m going to let him speak. … (But) he’s gone through a lot of sh*t in the last three years and he’s got every right to be frustrated and disappointed about it.”

Lost in Translation
The controversy erupted when semi-retired WFAN host, Joe Benigno, misinterpreted a text exchange he was having with Jets’ head coach, Robert Saleh, and went on the air to say the Jets head coach didn’t like Wilson.

This statement was made amidst the backdrop of a report in The Athletic that Wilson did not want back in and would prefer to stay on the sidelines. Bengino was ripped by fellow radio and TV personality, Boomer Esiason after Bengino was forced to publicly correct himself and admit he botched the context of the message.
Esiason was outraged that Bengino would divulge what was believed to be a private conversation, and getting it wrong was just the icing on the cake.
“What the heck is that? That to me is about as low as it gets,” Esiason said at the start of “Boomer & Gio” on Tuesday. “It’s unbelievable. That is about as unprofessional as it gets. Saying all that, what is Rob Saleh thinking about? You’re dancing with the devil, man.”
Whether Wilson will play in any more NFL games this season is not yet known. But based on Saleh’s response in shooting down the rumors that Wilson didn’t want to return, we could very well see the 24-year-old pulling the trigger against the Texans this coming Sunday.
