Russell Wilson Is Trending for Saying Absolutely Nothing

Russ Deserves Better!

I’m here for the Russell Wilson redemption era.

Russell Wilson is once again trending in the latest NFL news. Wilson sat down with former Seahawks teammate Brandon Marshall for a lengthy sitdown interview on the I Am Athlete podcast.

So, what did we learn?

Honestly, not much which is no surprise if you have been following Wilson’s career. Wilson is elite at not saying anything which is absolutely his right to do.

The quarterback did not “get candid” about the Broncos or reveal any new details about his breakup with the Seahawks. In fact, Wilson attempted to double down on his commitment to Denver.

Bro, I’m not sure if this was not clear when they illegally attempted to take out your injury clause, but the Broncos want to see other people.

Russ, the Broncos Are Filing for a Divorce

Of course, Wilson knows this and wants to make sure it will be Denver’s decision to move on from the quarterback this offseason. The next time NFL games take place Wilson will be wearing another team’s uniform.

The question is what franchise that will be, and Marshall attempted to create some NFL rumors by reading Wilson the Vegas odds for his next team. Wilson slipped back into his bot tendencies saying only that winning would be the priority if he is forced to find a new team this offseason.

We can make fun of Wilson sounding more like a robotic Fortune 500 CEO than an actual human. Yet, what about the post-Peyton Manning Broncos gives you any confidence?

Wilson became an easy scapegoat but no one forced Denver to immediately sign the quarterback to an extension before playing a down for the Broncos. It’s like the Broncos were bidding against no one else on eBay but for some reason kept upping the price.

Consider Russell Wilson’s stats from 2023 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions while completing 66.4% of his passes. Wilson also added 341 rushing yards and 3 TDs on the ground.

Give Me Dirty Birds Russ for That Redemption Era

You’re telling me a team like the Falcons could not use that type of production? Put Wilson in the ATL’s offense with Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson.

Wilson is getting crushed online for saying he wants to win two Super Bowls in the next five years. What do you want him to say?

Is Wilson just supposed to retire and be a lifetime spokesman for mediocre Subway sandwiches? I’m here for the Russell Wilson redemption era. As for the next sit-down interview, I think I’ll pass.
