Talk Is Cheap 🏃♂️💨
Tyreek Hill’s confidence is kinda throwing me off…
After months of back-and-forth on social media and multiple NFL news headlines, Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill have finally agreed to settle things on the track. Or grass. Or whatever surface they decide on, because details are still TBD. But the race is officially happening sometime this spring or summer, confirmed by People, and I have a lot of questions.
IT’S HAPPENING. 👀
The fastest man in the world Noah Lyles, will take on NFL superstar Tyreek Hill in a race that will end all debates.

This whole thing started when Noah Lyles called out the NBA for saying their Finals winners are “world champions,” and somehow that turned into Tyreek Hill saying he could outrun him. That led to Hill challenging Lyles to a 50-meter sprint, but Lyles wasn’t having it and said a full 100-meter race “would be a blowout.” So now they’re meeting somewhere in the middle, maybe around 75 meters? If that’s the case, I’m taking Lyles (obviously).

“I would beat Noah Lyles (in a race).”

Who Actually Has the Edge?
Distance matters. Lyles is a professional sprinter who has trained his entire career for races of very specific lengths. Noah Lyles’ 100m time won a gold medal at the Olympics. Hill, on the other hand, does great in short bursts on the football field. He obviously wants a shorter race because that’s where his speed is most dangerous. But we still don’t know the exact terms, and that could change everything. Or maybe it won’t change anything! Noah Lyles is supposed to be the fastest man in the world right now.

Tyreek Hill’s confidence is kinda throwing me off; I have no choice but to believe he has a chance after all that trash-talking he’s done online. Who would risk that level of embarrassment? But then you look at Tyreek Hill stats, and yeah, the guy is pretty fast. He once ran a 4.29-second 40-yard dash.

Now, there’s also the surface to consider. A race on a track is way different from running on grass in cleats, and if Hill manages to negotiate a race on grass, things get interesting. Either way, the betting odds on this are going to be hilarious.
A Little Ridiculous
The entire premise of this race is kind of ridiculous. You see a guy who won Olympic gold for the U.S. and your immediate reaction is, “Yeah, but could he beat me?” The ego on these guys is something else.
That said, I can’t pretend I won’t be watching. And if Lyles loses, it would be embarrassing as hell. All we can do for now is wait for more details to be announced, or see if there will be any more “talk” on X.
