Disposable Income, Indeed 🤑
Just the idea of smelling that thing makes me nauseous…
Some people really love sports memorabilia. So much so that they spend thousands or millions of dollars on it. Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in NFL games. Though he has seven rings, there are only so many items you can get from the Tom Brady Super Bowl wins.
That’s why a sweaty playcard wristband that he wore during Super Bowl LI is going for $400,000. Man, the kind of disposable income you need to have to be able to afford that is insane.

That’s far from the only thing he’s selling at auction. He’s also selling old jerseys and expensive watches that he’s worn. The most expensive item is a $800,000 wristwatch, which he wore during his Netflix roast. I’m guessing that has more to do with the fact that it’s a unique white gold and diamond-set Audemars Piguet more so than the fact that it was worn by Tom Brady.

Who’s Paying This Much for Memorabilia?
Look, I’m a fan of sports memorabilia. I’d love to have my office covered in awesome sports history. However, some of these prices are patently insane. Who the hell wants to spend $400,000 on a sweaty wristband?
Just the idea of smelling that thing makes me nauseous. That said, people like you and I will never own this stuff. These items are meant for the richest of rich people. For them, this stuff can be considered an investment. If Brady’s wristband is worth that much now, imagine how much it’ll be worth when he’s officially inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Imagine a hundred years from now when we’re all dead. That thing could be worth millions if people still care about football. As long as Brady keeps making NFL news, his items will have crazy value.
