Can’t. Stop. Watching.

Some people have praised it as one of the greatest goals ever scored…

There aren’t many moments in professional sports, whether a play, score, run, goal, or try, that deserve an entire article dedicated to them. But after watching Alejandro Garnacho this past weekend, I believe the kid deserves every inch of the soccer news spotlight he’s currently receiving.

Just look at this…

On Sunday evening, one of the best goals of the season was scored in the Premier League by Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United, who performed a moment of brilliance.

The Argentine winger scored United’s first goal versus Everton in just two minutes, and he did so emphatically.

Following a precise exchange on the right flank involving Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot, the full-back delivered a cross that landed precisely behind Garnacho. Did that stop him? Certainly not.

The winger acclimatized himself swiftly, leaped into the air, and executed an unprecedented bicycle kick into the upper corner of Everton’s net as the Merseyside home crowd looked on in astonishment.

It was a “what the f*ck just happened” moment for soccer fans around the globe. Some people have praised it as one of the greatest goals ever scored, while others have promptly drawn comparisons to Wayne Rooney’s strike against Man City in 2011.

It would be safe to say the winner of the goal of the year has been determined.

The Puskas Award winner will be announced in January 2024, and eleven goals have already been selected for nomination. However, considering how viral this moment has gone, don’t be surprised if FIFA places Garnacho’s beauty as a 12th. If they don’t, he’ll automatically make it into next year’s Puskas nominees, and it’ll be incredibly difficult to top this spectacle of goal.

The 19-year-old cost Man Utd around $500,000 and is proving to be a worthwhile investment for Ten Hag’s squad with many years of growth ahead. He’s sometimes been trolled for idolizing Ronaldo, but should his inspiration from the Portuguese legend continue to be replicated on the pitch, we could have a future superstar on our hands.
