No Bayern Fans? Good Riddance

It’s quite an embarrassing entanglement to be involved in…

Bayern Munich fans have been banned from attending their Champions League quarter-final meeting with Arsenal, and it’s potentially the best soccer news to hit the headlines this week.

I could make World War II references or even remind the Bundesliga that their best striker is English, but I’m not that petty. Plus, The Bavarians have already had enough heartache for one week, but perhaps they’ll learn that being held accountable for one’s actions can be a son of a b*tch.

What’s Going On? What’s Happened With Bayern Munich Fans?

UEFA has banned Bayern away fans due to an incident that occurred during the Bundesliga giant’s 3-0 success over Lazio in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. The German club’s supporters thought it would be a good idea to throw fireworks on the pitch, but to the surprise of absolutely nobody, it violated UEFA’s regulations.

The repercussions? Well, ha-ha, say goodbye to your London plane trip because a one-game ban on Bayern fans is now in effect.

It’s Just a Game, Relax Yourself

Considering that most football fans attending games during the Champions League schedule are adults, it’s quite an embarrassing entanglement to be involved in. That said, I’m not shocked one bit; this isn’t the first time Bayern have faced disciplinary actions, and given their current 10-point deficit at the top of the Bundesliga domestic table, it probably won’t be their last.

During the UCL group stage, a game versus Copenhagen saw fans, yep, you guessed it, set off fireworks. I refute my previous claim of “perhaps they’ll learn” because these fools have no sense. I guess when God made idiots, he made one too many.

60,000 Strong

Now, Thomas Tuchel and Harry Kane will make their return to English soil with nothing but their skill to rely on. The Emirates in North London holds around 60,000 spectators: we’re looking at 11 Bayern Munich players versus 60,000-plus strong!

It’s an epic advantage for Mikel Arteta and co., but let’s be honest, The Gunners would be favored to win either way, and this outcome is likely doing nothing but saving The Bavarians faithful some wasted hotel and plane money.

I’m out, but before I go, lass uns gehen Bayer Leverkusen!
