One Nation. One Team. ⭐

I like the United States to win Group C narrowly over Uruguay.

The latest soccer news finally reveals the Copa America 2024 draw. The USMNT finds itself in Group C with Uruguay, Panama, and Bolivia.

I know, I know, we still have Triple G as manager barring some other story emerging with soccer rumors between now and the summer. The talent is there to allow your little Grinch heart to grow two sizes in the coming months.

U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A!

And what would American soccer be without phrases like “we have the talent.” Soccer continues to be America’s long-running “sport of the future.” Just wait until all these kids playing soccer become adults in 2042!

Jokes aside, there is plenty to be excited about with Merica getting a test run at hosting this summer ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Also, there is this weird Kansas-light mascot to get creeped out by in the coming months.

USMNT Has Chance to Win Group C

An international tournament of this caliber will not be easy, but the United States did get somewhat fortunate with the draw. The USMNT avoids Argentina, Brazil, and rival Mexico in their group.

Uruguay poses the biggest threat to win Group C and will likely be the favorite to come out atop the standings. The opening odds have the USMNT at No. 6 with +1400 odds. Lionel Messi’s Argentina are the favorites to win at +175. Uruguay, who is group buddies with the USA, is third at +500 with El Tri fourth at +1100.

Messi Gets a Chance to Play at His New Home

The tournament has added significance with Messi now playing for Inter Miami. It just so happens Miami plays host to the Copa America final at Hard Rock Stadium.

Assuming the superstar plays in the tourney, Messi has a chance to lead Argentina to the grand finale in front of his new home crowd. At the very least, Argentina plays Peru at Miami on June 29.

Hard Rock Stadium’s capacity is estimated at 65,000, but my guess is this gets exceeded with standing-room tickets for the finale.

Copa America Tickets: So, When Can I Buy My Seats?

Okay, so we’re all excited. Now, how can you buy Copa America seats and how much will they cost?

Tickets are expected to go on sale in mid-January. Seats are already being sold on the secondary market for $500 and up but that is just brokers trying to take your money.

With most of these matches taking place at massive American football stadiums, tickets will be expensive but not impossible to snag. You sign up at Copa America’s official site for pre-sale opportunities.

Copa America Predictions: How Will USA, Canada & Mexico Do?

I’m feeling the vibes of the United States’ upset over Argentina in 1995. Ultimately, the USMNT was eliminated in the quarterfinals but the Yanks at least made some noise before their exit.

The USMNT should consider themselves as contenders, but the squad has a lot to clean up before the summer hits. With the advantage of the home turf, I like the United States to win Group C narrowly over Uruguay.

Canada has been sneaky in recent years but the squad needs to defeat Trinidad and Tobago to even make the tournament. If Canada does punch their ticket, the team gets the honor of facing Argentina to open up the tournament in the ATL.

Blame Canada, I like Argentina and Chile to advance out of Group A.

I was ready to pick against Mexico to advance out of their group. Then I looked at Group B and I have a hard time finding a major threat to El Tri. Look for Mexico to advance to the knockout stages but not be a real threat to the Cup.

Regardless of how this volatile USMNT does, this is a major boost for American soccer fans to host both Copa America and World Cup soccer games over the next three years.

I believe that we will…(maybe not win) put on a good party.
