Elbow to Your Face, Bosh!

Acting like an entitled prick…

Soccer news regarding CR7 since his move to the Saudi Pro League has been relatively heartwarming for the most part. He’s embraced the culture and brought countless eyes to the West Asian league, and the Cristiano Ronaldo career stats, alongside the likes of Sadio Mane and Karim Benzema, are challenging for the Golden Boot this season.

However, last night, the romanticized version of CR7 above, surrounding his time competing for Al-Nassr, abruptly came to a halt. The match was a crucial one for Al-Nassr, as a win would have secured their place in the Saudi Super Cup finals. Unfortunately, Ronaldo’s red card changed the course of the game, leading to a 2-1 loss and a semi-final cup exit.

Red Card, You’re Off!

I know we’re four days out from UFC 300, but Ronaldo needs to chill. In the 87th minute, 2-0 down, with minimal chance of a comeback, the former Real Madrid superstar shoved and threw an elbow in the face of Ali Albulayhi of Al-Hilal.

At one moment, it seemed like Ronaldo was going to slam the ball down in front of the referee as he was clearly enraged. However, the outcome wouldn’t have been different because the ref displayed zero tolerance for his behavior and whipped out the red card quicker than you can say “cup exit.”

As a 39-year-old man, watching him walk off the pitch enraged while sarcastically applauding the referee with gestures for the fans to do the same was embarrassing.

Na, Na, Na, Na, Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey, Goodbye

Acting like an entitled prick didn’t help the Al-Nassr standings or qualify Ronaldo or his teammates into the Saudi Super Cup finals, as their rivals held onto a winning lead until the final whistle. Sadio Mane did manage to scramble a 99th-minute consolation goal, but it was too little, too late.

Ronny had already received a yellow card earlier in the game following a heated debate with officials when Otavio’s goal was disallowed. Al-Nassr head honcho Luis Castro also decided to cry when Ronaldo was sent off because, apparently, elbows are now eligible in the sport… F*cking idiots.

Well, it doesn’t matter how many rivers Al-Nassr and CR7 cry; they’ve taken a semi-final cup exit at the hands of their rivals in addition to a 12-point gap in the Saudi Pro League title race… Aww, shame.
