Legs for Days 🤤

We’re not just basketball players. We’re not just girly girls… – Cameron Brink

Cameron Brink’s injury hasn’t stopped her from stunning fans with her impressive modeling skills.

The Los Angeles Sparks rookie just graced the cover of Flaunt Magazine looking ridiculously stunning. Her feature follows the devastating WNBA news that Brink would be out for the remainder of the season due to an ACL tear she incurred at the Sun Arena on June 18.

The day after her injury, she took to Instagram to share that she would not be playing the remainder of the WNBA schedule. “I will not be derailed,” she began her post. “And I will continue to love this life—I’m not defined by basketball, but it is something that I love deeply and I will work everyday to get back to it. It’s not goodbye basketball it’s just a see you later. I’m always so thankful for your thoughts and prayers.”

She Is So Much More Than Just a WNBA Player

When looking at the impressive Cameron Brink stats, one could describe her as a determined athlete, solely focused on winning every game. However, that is just one aspect of who she is. Flaunt cover proves she isn’t “defined by basketball.”

During her cover interview, Brink participated in a Q&A where Flaunt’s Mathew Bedard asked about the importance of having different versions of herself. “I definitely really believe in duality and being able to do multiple things,” she told Bedard. “I went to Stanford. I highly value academics because after basketball, what am I going to do? So I think that’s something the world needs to accept more.

“We need to stop boxing people in, especially athletes. We’re not just our sport. That’s what keeps my mental health going is having other things I can turn to, because we’re not just basketball players. We’re not just girly girls,” she added.

Cam’s Olympic Dream Gets Postponed

Sadly, with this injury, her hopes to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics as part of Team USA’s 3×3 women’s basketball team have been dashed. It’s especially heartbreaking after seeing the touching video of Cameron shedding tears upon finding out about her inclusion.

But as Cameron mentioned in her Instagram post, “It’s not goodbye to basketball it’s just see you later.”

Lately, Brink has been seen at LA Sparks games, going through her usual pregame outfit ritual and supporting her team from the sidelines. Everyone is excited for her recovery and to see her dominate the court again!
