NYC Wins 🗽
The Liberty courtside seats are always riddled with celebrities…
The WNBA is blowing up right now, and I fully plan to be nosy about which new celebs decide they’re fans this year. But while we wait for the next big Hollywood star to act like they’ve always been down during the 2025 WNBA season, let’s go through the ones who already show up.
New York Has Fierce Fans
First up: New York. The Liberty courtside seats are always riddled with celebrities, especially when compared to other WNBA teams. Spike Lee, obviously, has been treating Liberty WNBA games like they’re Knicks playoff games (so, he’s loud and very much in his element). He didn’t miss a single Liberty playoff game last season and even went to a game once in a full Sabrina Ionescu fit. Signed sneakers and everything. He loves that girl. I love that girl, too.
Do the right thing 🙌

Then there’s Jason Sudeikis. He’s basically in a relationship with that one WNBA hoodie. Dude’s a legit season ticket holder for the Liberty and flew to Vegas for their semifinal run. So it’s safe to say he’s committed.

Same with Alicia Keys, who likes to run to the locker room after a Liberty playoff win and scream Empire State of Mind!

Aubrey Plaza and the Real Ones
Aubrey Plaza has been a WNBA fan for years. She even showed up to the 2025 WNBA Draft, which was right after her husband passed. That kind of tells you how much the league means to her. She didn’t need a trend to get her there.

And she’s not the only one who’s in it for the right reasons. The Liberty have a certain vibe, if you care about women’s basketball, you’ll get it. It’s not just about who’s popular right now. Though yes, last year’s rookies brought in a whole new wave of fans, and, speaking of, if you haven’t checked Caitlin Clark stats yet, you probably should.
West Coast, Stand Up
Shoutout to Snoop Dogg for holding it down on the West Coast. He’s a Sparks guy, but also gives love to players like A’ja Wilson and JuJu Watkins. California loyalty mixed with actual knowledge on women’s hoops, we love to see it.
