It’s Been Two Years in the Making But Usher Finally Came to a Las Vegas Aces Game

A’ja Finally Got Him There and They Lost

They ain’t did sh*t all day, but they wanna take a motherf*cking picture with Usher. – A’ja Wilson

After two long years of pleading from A’ja Wilson, Usher finally came to a Las Vegas Aces game!

After dedicating two years to trying to get Usher involved in the league, A’ja Wilson has shifted her focus to convincing Beyonce to support the WNBA. But her efforts with Usher were not in vain, as he finally attended his first LV Aces game. Sadly, their team lost to the Chicago Sky, which is honestly a little bit heartbreaking.

Despite Wilson’s remarkable performance, the Aces could not secure a victory in their 93-85 game against the Chicago Sky on Tuesday night. The A’ja Wilson stats from the game were superior. She dominated with 28 points, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 3 steals, but she had to put up an outstanding effort because her idol was watching from the stands.

Why Was Usher There?

The back-to-back champions and the eight-time Grammy Award winner established a connection in 2022 after the team won its first title. A’ja Wilson, the WNBA MVP, extended an invitation to Usher for the Aces’ championship parade that year. Despite his absence, Wilson was determined and invited him once more for the 2023 parade.

Though Usher was unable to attend either parade, he invited Wilson and her teammates to come see him perform at his Las Vegas residency last year. A video of A’ja Wilson being serenaded by Usher took over WNBA news headlines and only solidified her status as a force to be reckoned with.

Salty A’ja Wilson

In a video from the game that’s gone viral, Wilson can be heard saying, “They ain’t did sh*t all day, but they wanna take a motherf*cking picture with Usher.” It’s being reported by several outlets that Wilson was poking fun at her teammates. However, I’m pretty sure she was talking about the refs.

It makes sense why she’d be feeling a little bit salty. Usher, who she absolutely adores, ended up hanging out with the Chicago Sky in their locker room after the game and Angel Reese even posted a TikTok with him.

In the video, Angel Reese is holding her phone up to her and Usher and tells him: “Say Usher, baby.” To which he responds: “Angel, baby.” The Angel Reese stats were impressive last night but getting Usher to call her “baby” is legendary.

I’m sorry. If I was A’ja Wilson, this would be my villain arc. Honestly, Usher did her dirty. She didn’t ask him to watch them get their asses handed to them, she asked him to come and celebrate them winning. He needs to correct this by going to every game on the Aces WNBA schedule until they secure a win.
