Stars of the W ⭐
Fans may be surprised to learn that the latest WNBA news does not involve Caitlin Clark. Okay, I sort of lied as it sort of involves Clark’s omission.

The W just dropped a new docu-series called Year 1 which features rookies Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso, Rickea Jackson, and Nika Muhl. Yes, you may notice there is no Clark which feels a bit like when Popeyes forgets to put a biscuit in your order.
The WNBA has announced ‘Year 1’, a four-episode docuseries focusing on four rookies:
• Angel Reese
• Kamilla Cardoso
• Rickea Jackson
• Nika MuhlThe first episode is live on the WNBA app and YouTube.

That’s the only reason we go!
I digress, but it’s not all bad as Clark’s omission allows other WNBA players to get the much-needed spotlight. Clark and her BFF Peyton Manning just dropped an ESPN show Full Court Press that prominently features the star while documenting her final season at Iowa.
It’s Time to Give Angel Reese Her Flowers
The truth is Clark has not even been the best rookie this WNBA season. It is hard to argue with Reese’s incredible production. Reese is averaging a double-double with 13.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
Angel Reese posts ANOTHER double-double, making it 11 straight 🔥

If there is one criticism, Reese is shooting just 39.7% from the field, a subpar percentage for a forward who plays down low. Some have criticized Reese for padding her stats with missed bunnies.

The Caitlin Clark stats have picked up since her slow start to the W season. The star guard is posting 16 points, 7.1 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game for the Indiana Fever. Clark is famous for her logo threes but is shooting just 33.7% from long range.
The W Needs to Balance Leaning on CC With Battling Potential Resentment
It is no secret that some of the WNBA players appear to resent Clark. There have been plenty of vets that have been grinding without the media attention Clark has received.
Chennedy Carter in the postgame media session, after committing a hard foul on Caitlin Clark:
“I ain’t answering no Caitlin Clark questions.”

The truth is that Clark’s presence is also improving the standard of living across the WNBA. Yes, we write about Clark because you guys love clicking on the stories. But this is also bringing along casuals who may have previously had little desire to watch WNBA games.
There are plenty of other WNBA teams and players, so it’s a difficult balancing act for the league to also make sure Clark is not the only one getting the attention.
Regardless, business is boomin’ for The W.
