- MLB betting experts project Juan Soto re-signing with the New York Yankees.
- The New York Mets could be a landing spot if Soto doesn’t sign with the Yankees.
- Check the latest MLB odds at BetUS Sportsbook.
One of the final images from the 2024 World Series was New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto watching the celebration by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Soto experienced the joy of winning it all as a member of the Washington Nationals and having just turned 26, Soto wants more chances to win it all.
MLB betting lines are sure to shift if Soto joins his fourth franchise in the last five seasons. The Yankees made a bold move in trading five players to acquire Juan Soto and fellow outfielder Trent Grisham knowing that he would be a free agent at the end of the 2024 season.
That time is now after the Yankees squandered a five-run lead in Game 5 of the World Series and lost in five games to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Soto walked three times, had a hit and scored twice in the Game 5 loss. But there was still obvious pain for Soto as he watched the Dodgers celebrate winning the World Series title at Yankee Stadium.

Soto is sure to make plenty of MLB news whether he stays with the Yankees or heads elsewhere. Let’s take a look at the odds for Soto to sign with the Yankees or head elsewhere.
Will Juan Soto Sign With the Yankees in 2025?
Are you thinking about placing a bet on where Juan Soto will play in 2025? Check the following insights before heading to the sportsbook:
1. Quite a New York Debut
Soto was second on the Yankees with 41 home runs and 109 RBIs during the regular season to go with a .288 batting average. Only the presence of teammate Aaron Judge kept Soto from being higher in the sports betting odds for the American League Most Valuable Player award.
While many of his teammates struggled in the postseason, Soto hit .327 with 12 runs, four home runs and nine RBIs in 14 games. He already has 11 postseason home runs and 201 more during the regular season. Soto is on pace to hit 35 home runs per season. At that rate, it would take him six more seasons to reach 400 home runs and he would get there at the age of 32. There is no telling how many hits and RBI’s Soto will finish his career with.
There has been speculation that his contract could approach what former Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani got when he signed with the Dodgers.
There are -120 odds for Soto to get a contract going either over or under $600 million.
2. Soto Leaving His Options Open
Soto didn’t shy away from his impending free agency after the Yankees fell to the Dodgers in Game 5 of the Fall Classic.
“It is going to be exciting,” Soto told the media after Game 5. “It is going to be a good experience. I think every player in the big leagues wants to experience this.”
Juan Soto spoke candidly about how much he’s enjoyed his season with the Yankees. But he also spoke about the club in the past tense. Was Game 5 of the World Series his last one in pinstripes?@DeeshaThosar has more on Juan Soto’s free agency ✍️https://t.co/C36gH5HeBx pic.twitter.com/2VDjVteohp

One interesting potential plot twist is that the Dodgers are one of three teams tied at +1000 in the odds of adding Soto to the roster.
3. A Look at the Free Agents
New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso, New York Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres, Milwaukee shortstop Willy Adames, third basemen Alex Bregman of the Houston Astros and Yoan Moncada of the Chicago White Sox, San Diego outfielder Jurickson Profar and Baltimore outfielder Anthony Santander are among the position players set to hit the free-agent market.
Gerrit Cole of the Yankees and Blake Snell of the San Francisco Giants are among the starting pitchers who can opt out.
The first move has already been made with the Atlanta Braves trading Jorge Soler to the Los Angeles Angels for pitcher Griffin Canning.
