Bet on Quieter Bats in Tight Mariners-Rangers AL West Series Race
The Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers are jockeying for second place in the AL West, with both half a game behind Houston. Both teams currently own a Wild Card spot, but if things change, Texas would have the edge over the Mariners as it leads the regular-season series five games to one. The Mariners will look to close in on that lead, but our MLB odds for today have the Rangers favored in the opener.
Mariners vs Rangers Starting Pitchers
- Friday: Bryce Miller (8-5, 3.88 ERA) vs. Dane Dunning (10-6, 3.78 ERA)
- Saturday: Logan Gilbert (13-6, 3.77 ERA) vs. Jordan Montgomery (9-11, 3.38 ERA)
- Sunday: Bryan Woo (4-4, 3.90 ERA) vs. Nathan Eovaldi (11-4, 3.05 ERA)
Mariners Offense Unpredictable
Seattle hit a three-game win streak after sweeping the Oakland Athletics, with its offense putting forth a strong performance.

Despite the Mariners giving up five runs over the three games, their offense was impressive for how it bounced back, averaging six runs a game.
Seattle’s offense struggled in the previous series against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Angels, averaging 2.3 runs a game during the four-game span.
However, the improvement also came against the worst team in the league, so bettors may want to hold off until they see what kind of offense the Mariners bring against Texas before looking at some MLB live betting odds.

Rangers’ Starters Remain Strong
Texas put an end to its four-game losing skid with a two-game win streak, and it will look to continue that in its series with Seattle with some strong pitching.
The Rangers are putting forth a solid slate of starters for this series. Dunning and Montgomery have been strong recently.
Dunning is coming off a performance in which he threw five strikeouts in five scoreless innings, while Montgomery has given up just one run in his last 14 innings of play, throwing 11 strikeouts. Eovaldi hasn’t been as strong, however, allowing five runs in 8 ⅓ innings in his last two games.
Despite the recent play of some of Texas’ starters, the Rangers have done a solid job slowing Seattle this season, giving up an average of three runs a game in six games, and bettors may want to keep that in mind when MLB betting online.

Mariners vs Rangers MLB Betting Prediction
The Rangers have had a hold on the Mariners all season long, leading them five games to one, and that should continue in this three-game series, starting with the MLB game tonight.
Seattle has struggled recently against stronger pitching, and it may have issues getting its bats going against Texas. Dunning and Montgomery have been solid, while Eovaldi has caused issues for the Mariners earlier this season.
Woo has also been strong for Seattle and should put up a fight in the series finale, but the Rangers’ offense should be able to handle the Mariners’ other two starters.
Seattle should avoid getting swept in the series finale, but Texas should take the series win once again.
MLB Pick: Texas Rangers to win the series (-135)
