Blake Snell Joins Los Angeles Dodgers With $182M Five-Year Deal

Former Two-Time CY Young Winner Is Joining the Already Stacked LA Dodgers

Snell to LA = Dodgers’ First Step Towards Dynasty

Imagine you’re one of the hottest free-agent pitchers in pro baseball right now. You’re just chilling at home, waiting on any team to hit you up and say: “Hey, we’ve got millions, you’ve got talent, how about we link up? Oh yeah, and just in case, we can hook you up with lifetime VIP access to LA strip clubs if interested.

That could have perfectly been what happened when Blake Snell, two-time Cy Young Award winner, decided to ink his name on a $182M five-year contract offered by the reigning World Series champions and betting odds juggernauts Los Angeles Dodgers.

Snell, who recently opted out of his deal with the San Francisco Giants, took to his personal IG account last night, posting a picture of himself rocking LA’s uniform ( #7, of course) with a simple “LA –eye emoji-” caption letting MLB news and the world know he was en route to becoming a Dodger.

So, besides that being an OG move on Snell’s part to let fans know what’s coming, what’s next?

Who Will Stop LA’s Rotation Now?

Holding a 2-2 MLB games record in his nine-year career against the Dodgers, Snell, one of the best left-handed pitchers since joining the league, will kick it with one of the most dominant teams in pro baseball right now.

From everywhere you look, LA is stacked to the brim. It’s no wonder they were atop everybody’s MLB expert picks last season.

Yet still, their pitching rotation could be considered the team’s weakest link, with manager Dave Roberts relying heavily on his bullpen to score the team’s first World Series title since 2020.

Fun fact about all this is the Dodgers went from facing Snell and former Tampa Bay Rays teammate Tyler Glasnow in the 2020 World Series to having them as part of the team’s rotation now. Talk about coincidences and how much money LA has at its disposal to build up a close-to-unbeatable rotation.

Do They Have Space for One More Star?

Considering Snell’s potential immediate impact on the team, where does he realistically land in LA’s revamped rotation? Let’s say Yoshinobu Yamamoto takes first place in the rotation, does Snell go second, or does Glasnow follow Yoshi?

Just thinking about it, I can already picture the Dodgers as headliners of all the best MLB bets tickets for next season.

And what if Ohtani is cleared to pitch? Where does he go? My ideal rotation would be Yamamoto, Snell, Ohtani, and Glasnow, with Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May closing out.

Be it as it may, one thing’s for sure, if anybody keeping the Dodgers score wants a new baseball dynasty, just know LA is making moves and ready to deliver.
