Could the Dodgers Land Juan Soto to Form the Ultimate Avengers Squad?
With Soto’s Future Still Up def in the Air, Does LA Stand a Chance?
Snell’s Signed; Could Soto Be Next?
It’s not even been 24 hours since MLB news broke that two-time Cy Young-winning left-hander Blake Snell was signing a five-year $182M contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and already the word is out on what could be LA’s next massive move.
MLB rumors are starting to swirl around that current World Series champions LA could be in the hunt for the hottest non-pitching free agent in pro baseball right now, right fielder Juan Soto.
Yes, the same Juan Soto who played for the Yankees up until a few weeks ago. Yes, that Dominican dude with the souped-up hair that shows up on any site when you google “Juan Soto stats.”
Just entertaining the idea of the Dodgers going after Soto after signing Snell is already too much of an opium dream for LA fans, but what if it does happen?

Seriously, what if?
LA Will Have Some Tough Competition Ahead
Of course, with such a hot commodity as Soto hitting the market, LA is not alone in this fight. Four other teams are joining the Dodgers in the Juan Soto contract sweepstakes. So, who wants Juan this offseason?
Juan Soto reportedly has offers from these five teams, per @jonmorosi & @RandyJMiller

Firstly, there’s the Yankees, who have the money, the roster, and maybe even the pull to convince Soto to return for another stint. Using the typical “if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere” load, especially if it’s Aaron Judge spilling it, it could work.
After that, staying in the AL East, the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays have both stepped up to the plate to see if Soto could be interested in hearing them out.
But honestly, why go anywhere else in the AL if not the Yankees?
And lastly, New York’s other team, the Mets, aka every National League fan’s favorite MLB expert pick besides LA last season, also wants a piece of Soto’s action.

Just picture it, Soto, Grimace. That’s the stuff dreams are made of right there.
Is Soto to LA a Good Idea Anyways?
Let me be the first to say that I’m all for MLB going all out to make baseball as exciting as it can be once again.
I grew up in a baseball-loving family. I’ve always been the first person to debate people who say the sport is boring and does not deserve the hype it gets. Sorry to tell you haters, but baseball deserves every single piece of pop and smoke and then some.
Now, with that said, do I favor the idea of Soto pulling off a Kevin Durant-style move when he went to the Warriors by joining the Dodgers, or is it better for him to go somewhere else?
I vote for the latter.
Enough already! Mad Dog and I agree, Soto going to Dodgers would NOT be good for baseball. They are too good already! Mad Dog gives all his Hall picks and non picks in full cast!

MLB games need competition, not one juggernaut team taking over the league while all others fight it out to be second-best. Sure, you can argue that Soto staying with the Yankees could be a different cost, same scenario kind of thing here, but that’s part of what made this year’s World Series must-watch TV.
Even after differing a large percentage of Juan Soto’s contract alone could drive LA and the rest of the league into a completely different economic landscape, making it very difficult for other teams to compete. And who wants that?
MLB betting odds fans want that competition. They want the thrills of upsets, not just squash matches. Hence, for the sports’ well-being, stay away from LA Juan.
