Teams on Polar Opposite Ends of the Win-Loss Spectrum
The Los Angeles Angels come into Chicago 7-3 in their last ten games and ride a five-game winning streak to boot.
On the other side, the Chicago White Sox, who are decimated with injuries, are 1-9 in their last ten games and coming off a loss. The Angels will look to stay devilishly hot while the Southsiders look to get back on track.
Let’s check the latest MLB picks, stats, injury reports, and MLB odds for Angels vs White Sox. We’ve plenty of MLB predictions.
Angels, Trout Getting Hot at the Right Time
Mike Trout started the season slowly but has turned on the jets here as of late. He is currently slashing .352/.478/.778 with a 1.256 OPS. He is also up to five home runs on the MLB season.
Other bats in the lineup have stayed hot as well, including Taylor Ward, Brandon Marsh, and Jo Adell. If Shohei Ohtani and Anthony Rendon can get their bats hot, this lineup could be close to unstoppable.
The Los Angeles Angels would not be anywhere without their pitching. Even the unconventional Joe Maddon has used a six-man starting rotation to try and keep guys fresh; they have all pitched fairly well, especially Noah Syndergaard.
He will take the mound Friday night, looking to continue having the hot hand. He is 2-0 and sporting a 2.12 ERA in his first season with the Halos.
Syndergaard is looking like a genius for taking the risk of signing with the Angels in the off-season to resurrect his career coming off of Tommy John surgery, especially if he can continue to pitch the way he has early on.
Injury Plagued White Sox Trying to Keep Head Above Water
The Sox lineup is missing some of its big boppers, but those who still remain can do just as much damage.
If there was one ship taking on water this year, it would be that of the Chicago White Sox. At every turn this season, they have not been able to catch a break from the injury bug.
As soon as one guy comes off the injured list, one or two more get placed on the injury list. It’s almost quicker to tell you which of the White Sox stars are healthy than it is to tell you who is on the injured list.
As the White Sox continue to get healthy and eye the return of several big names to their roster, the current team is trying their hardest to keep their head above water. It hasn’t been easy, and it won’t get any easier as the Angels come to town with one of the best records in baseball right now.
Right-handed starter Lucas Giolito will stride to the mound for his third start of the year. Giolito has already had a short stint on the injured list this year but is looking healthy.
He had nine strikeouts in his last outing but lasted only four innings on a limited pitch count and struggled with some command, giving up three walks. He will need to be sharp against the Angels.
Angels vs White Sox Head-to-Head
The two teams met seven times in 2021, with the Angels taking the season series 5-2. They took two of three games from the White Sox inside of Guaranteed Rate Field, putting up 21 runs in those three games while holding the White Sox to eight runs.
Look for this to be a lower scoring affair with the two big righties, Giolitio and Syndergaard going for their respective teams. It might come down to which team has the stronger bullpen.

Angels vs White Sox Prediction
Sportsbook has the MLB lines pretty close in this one, actually giving a slight edge to the Chicago White Sox, which seems weird considering their recent struggles. And who knows, perhaps they are due a win. But this is not the game for that to happen.
The Angels are red hot, and Noah Syndergaard has looked like his old self to open up the season. So we are going with the underdog Angels with a moneyline at +111.
When you bet online, take the moneyline for the Angels at +111.
