New York Looks to Continue Run Against Visiting Oakland
Very Top vs Very Bottom
The New York Yankees will welcome the Oakland Athletics to the Bronx on Monday to start a three-game series. The Yankees continue to rip apart the competition while the A’s find themselves at the very bottom of the standings, not only in their division but in the entire MLB. This series could easily be a rout for the Yankees facing a much lower-caliber team.
Let’s check the latest MLB lines, stats, injury reports, and MLB odds for Athletics vs Yankees. We’ve plenty of MLB Spreads for you to consider.
Series Win Builds Confidence
The Oakland Athletics were able to get a series win on Sunday afternoon against the Kansas City Royals. Seth Brown’s big weekend helped fuel the Athletics series win as he returned to the place where he made his MLB debut in 2019. It was a special weekend in a special place for Brown.
It is no surprise that the Athletics are struggling all around. They rank last or near last in almost every major category in baseball in both pitching and hitting. Unfortunately for them, they will be facing a team that ranks amongst the top or near the top of every major category. The Athletics are struggling with a depleted roster from trading away any and all players with value in the offseason. As a result, they have the worst record in the MLB.
They will send Paul Blackburn to the mound with a 6-3 record and an impressive 2.97 ERA. He has pitched extremely well but did get lit up a bit in his last outing against the Seattle Mariners where he gave up seven runs in four innings. He will need to be on his A-game on Monday night.
Yankees Coming Off Split
The New York Yankees struggled to keep their momentum going against the Houston Astros, including getting no-hit in one game over the weekend. But they ended the series in fashion when Aaron Judge hit a three-run home run to walk off the finale of the series.
The No. 1 offense in the MLB will look to get their bats hot again against the worst pitching staff in the MLB. But they need to be wary of Blackburn who has been pitching very well. Although the Yankees have a healthy lead in the American League East, they want as much of a cushion as they can create, especially with as hot as the Boston Red Sox are right now.
Jordan Montgomery will stride to the mound on Monday night for the Yankees with a 3-1 record and 2.97 ERA. The lefty has been pitching well and getting a decent amount of run support from the hot Yankees lineup. Look for that trend to continue in this series. A sweep would not be out of the question in this series for the Yankees.
Athletics vs Yankees Head-to-Head
This will be the first meeting between the AL teams from opposite coasts. In six games in 2021, the Yankees took the season series 4-2 over the Athletics.

Athletics vs Yankees Prediction
The sportsbooks have the Yankees as the heavy favorite at -300. This makes betting a bit more difficult for those wanting a big return on their bets. Looking at the other MLB lines for this game does not give much hope either. But there are two options.
You could take the Yankees to win the game and roll it into a three-game parlay bet. Or, the other option would be to take a risk on betting that the Athletics win the game as the underdog to cash in on the +240 odds.
When you bet online, take the moneyline win by the New York Yankees at -300 with a parlay.
