Best 3 MLB Player Props 7/26/24
1. Cardinals Sonny Gray SP Over 5½ Strikeouts (-143)
I’m firing on a strikeout prop with our first MLB pick tonight. The Cardinals return home for the first time since the All-Star break and will host the Washington Nationals. The Cardinals will send 34-year-old righty Sonny Gray to the bump.
Gray is in his 12th big league season. He finished as the runner-up for AL Cy Young in 2023 and, in his first year in St. Louis, is off to a terrific start in 2024. He has pitched his way into the top 10 in NL Cy Young odds and was one of the biggest All-Star snubs this season.

Gray has been a significant reason behind the Cardinals‘ climb back into the NL Central standings. He has thrown the ball exceptionally well, posting a 10-6 record with a 3.54 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP. Gray has a 106 Pitching+ and a 108 Stuff+ this season, inside the top 15 in MLB among qualified starting pitchers. He is in the 71st percentile in WHIFF% and 92nd in K%. Gray has exceeded five strikeouts in 15 of his 18 starts!
He’s posted career-high marks in xERA and K-BB% with St. Louis. Since his disastrous season with the Yankees in 2018, he has finished above the league average in K/BB ratio. He will face a Nats lineup that was just no-hit yesterday by Dylan Cease! The Nats aren’t a team to attack with strikeouts, but Gray finished with six Ks against them on July 5 on the road.

Washington has the eighth-lowest K % this season, but I trust Gray to stay on track at home. He has been lights out at Busch Stadium with a 2.14 home ERA compared to 5.29 on the road in 2024. I’m riding Gray with confidence at BetUS Sportsbook.
2. Brewers SP Freddy Peralta 7+ Strikeouts (-182)
The Milwaukee Brewers will send their ace, Freddy Peralta, to the rubber Friday night when they battle the Miami Marlins. I’ve always been a massive fan of Peralta and love his pitch arsenal. The Brewers may not have wanted to trade away Corbin Burnes in the offseason, but knowing they had Peralta in the stable made things easier for them. Freddy is 6-5 this season with a 3.88 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP.
Peralta has exceeded this line in 12 of 20 starts and 6 of 9 at home. He has been great against the Marlins’ projected lineup, holding them to a .206 batting average. The Fish have the 12th-highest K % this season and the third-highest in the last month. Miami is sixth in Whiff %. Freddy is in the 91st percentile in both Whiff and K percentages! Fire up Freddy with confidence!

3. Rockies SP Kyle Freeland 6+ Hits Allowed (-143)
The Rockies will send 31-year-old Kyle Freeland to the rubber on Friday night. Colorado is out of contention already, and they will be one of the sellers at the trade deadline. The Rockies own the third-worst record in the entire league (38-65), behind only the White Sox (27-78) and the Marlins (37-66).
Meanwhile, the Giants are on the outside looking in on the NL Wild Card race and NL West standings, but they are clearly the better squad. San Fran has dealt with a litany of injuries that have thrown its season off course, but it is still battling with a veteran group. They have struggled this month, but a date with Freeland could be just what they need to get the offense clicking.
The Giants are tied with the fifth-best wRC+ against left-handers this season. They are tied with the sixth-highest batting average against lefties (.260). San Fransisco is much better at home, with just a .232 batting average on the road compared to .253 at home.
They faced Freeland in his previous outing, and he posted his second-best stat line of the season, pitching 6 innings and allowing just 5 hits. However, I expect the Giants to climb over that five-hit line at home. The left-hander has finished with at least six hits allowed in seven of his nine starts this season. Freeland has allowed more than five hits in four of his last seven starts against the Giants. He is in the 6th percentile in xBA and 20th in xERA!
It’s been a nightmare season for the Rockies, and we can trust the Giants to continue to battle for a Wild Card spot. Freeland’s numbers are glaringly bad. He was in the 6th percentile in xBA dating back to the start of last season—fade Freeland and watch him allow at least six hits. Include him in your MLB player prop bets tonight.
