The Toronto Blue Jays are hot. They’ve won four straight games and seven out of their last nine coming into Tuesday’s date with the Baltimore Orioles.
On Monday, the Jays edged the Orioles 5-1 in a rain-shortened affair. That led to them clinching home field in the Wild Card round.
Meanwhile, the Orioles have been struggling lately. They’ve lost seven out of their last 10 games and have been eliminated from the postseason.
The challenge with the MLB betting odds here is will the Jays be motivated at all here? They don’t have a lot to play for, which makes it tough if you bet online.

He started the season with the Los Angeles Dodgers but got traded at the deadline and has not adjusted yet. He’s appeared in nine games with his new squad but has helped them win just two of those contests.
If there is some good news, it’s that he’s facing an O’s lineup that has cooled off a lot. They have scored just 10 runs in total in their last six contests. Cedric Mullins is batting just .217 over the last week while Anthony Santander is at .148.
The O’s look like they’ve packed it in for the year. However, if you’re eying the MLB odds, note that White is 0-3 on the road with a 5.63 ERA. That’s not a great sign for Jays bettors.
Baumann Gets Nod for Baltimore
The Baltimore Orioles are out of playoff contention and motivation is a concern. Mike Baumann is going to try to rally the troops against Toronto in this one.
Baumann is 1-3 with a mediocre 4.34 ERA. The O’s have dropped five straight games that he’s appeared in and 10 of 11. It makes it tough to back him in the sportsbook.
In total, the Orioles have won just two out of the 12 games in which he’s pitched. He’s certainly going to need to improve for Baltimore to win.
