Both Teams Coming Off Series-Opening Wins
AL East Rivals Clash in the Bronx
The Toronto Blue Jays try to bounce back from their first loss when they take on the host New York Yankees on Monday night in the first of a four-game series between division rivals. Toronto dropped the finale of its three-game series with the Texas Rangers on Sunday after taking the first two games. New York also suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday, falling to the Boston Red Sox.
These two teams are expected to be in the mix for the American League East title all season long, so this is a big series for both squads. Let’s take a closer look at this game to help you decide how you want to bet online.

Let’s check the latest MLB Picks, stats, injury reports, and MLB Odds for Blue Jays vs Yankees. We’ve plenty of MLB Predictions.
Blue Jays Needing More on Mound
The Toronto Blue Jays’ offensive lineup is potent, with some of the best young hitters in the American League. But Toronto’s pitching staff has allowed 23 runs through three games, putting more pressure on the offense.
Trying to turn things around for the Blue Jays in Monday’s series opener will be right-hander Alek Manoah, who will be making his first start of the season. Manoah was 9-2 with a 3.22 ERA in 20 starts as a rookie in 2021, finishing with 127 strikeouts and 40 walks in 111⅔ innings. Manoah had two starts against New York last season, going 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA.
First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is off to a hot start in 2022, batting .455 with a home run, four RBIs and three runs scored. He has a team-high five hits through the first three games.
Outfielder George Springer is healthy after playing in just 78 games in 2021 in his first campaign with the Blue Jays. Springer is batting .308 with a double, a home run, one RBI and four runs scored, though he’s also struck out six times in 13 plate appearances.
Yankees Try to Get Back on Winning Track
The New York Yankees not only suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday night, but they might have seen a starting pitcher go down for a little bit. Jordan Montgomery took a line drive off his left knee in the first inning and was on the ground screaming afterward. He stayed in the game and went 3⅓ innings, but how well he’ll be going forward is now a question.
“Obviously to see him rolling around like that in pain was certainly concerning,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after Sunday’s loss. “Pretty gutsy effort to kind of walk it off.”
Right-hander Jameson Taillon will get the start on Monday. Taillon went 8-6 with a 4.30 ERA in 2021, starting 29 games and striking out 140 and walking 44 in 144⅓ innings. The 30-year-old was 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA in three starts against the Blue Jays.
Designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton is leading the offensive attack for the Yankees. Stanton has a team-high .385 batting average and has two home runs, four RBIs and two runs scored.
First baseman Anthony Rizzo has a team-best six RBIs and also has two home runs. Rizzo is batting .300 and has scored a team-high three runs as well.
Blue Jays vs Yankees Head-to-Head
The Toronto Blue Jays had the slight edge over the New York Yankees in the 2021 season series between the teams, 11-8. The road team was dominant, with Toronto taking eight of 10 games at Yankee Stadium while New York won six of nine as the visiting team.
Last season was the first time in four years that Toronto took the season series, with the teams tying in 2020 and New York winning the series in 2018 and 2019. The MLB lines see this as almost a pick ‘em proposition, with the Yankees getting the slightest of edges for being the home team.

Blue Jays vs Yankees Prediction
The Toronto Blue Jays are not intimidated by playing in Yankee Stadium, including Manoah, who won his major league debut in the Bronx last May. The New York Yankees will not go easily, but we like the Blue Jays to get the victory in the series opener.
When making your MLB picks, take Toronto to get the road win.
