Braves Sinking Ship Meets the Cannons of the Mets
The Atlanta Braves can’t catch a break right now. After Ronald Acuna Jr. came back, the Braves were hoping for a big pick me up. After dropping two of three over the weekend to the lowly Texas Rangers, the Braves are sinking quickly. The NL East front running Mets are looking to continue helping the Braves sink as they streak forward with an already strong lead in the division.
Let’s check the latest MLB Picks, stats, injury reports, and MLB Odds for Braves vs Mets. We’ve plenty of MLB Predictions.
Braves Need a Strong Showing
It’s still early, so it’s not the end of the world that the Atlanta Braves are struggling, but they need to show some signs of life against the current top team in the MLB and in their division. With their proverbial ace on the mound Monday night in Max Fried, the offense needs to show up to give him some run production.
Max Friend has been doing his part having pitched 24 innings, sporting a 3.00 ERA with 21 strikeouts and only a single walk, but he is only 2-2 in his four starts. Run production has been poor in his outings, which has been spotty. They hit for power but are lacking any consistency with no players hitting over .300 currently.
In this series, the Braves have to show that they can at least hang with the big dogs and put up a fight. If they get trounced in the next three games with the Mets, it might make for a very long season in Atlanta.
Mets Making Good on Their Hot Start
It’s impressive when you have a good offense or a good pitching staff. But even more so if you are like the New York Mets and have the best of both in the MLB. The Mets boast the best record in the National League and are just barely behind the red hot Yankees for the best record in the MLB. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games and continue to beat up on their NL East opponents.
They will look to continue the trend against the hurting Atlanta Braves who are six games behind them in the NL East. Their play on the field has spoken for itself, but they need to continue to produce above expectations as they did in April and avoid a sharp drop-off in May.
But there could be some turmoil before this game starts. At noon Monday, rosters have to be cut from 28 down to 26 men and the Mets have some hard choices to make. One of them might be the decision to release veteran Robinson Cano. While Cano has not performed well thus far, his veteran leadership plays a big impact on a team looking to do big things this season. How much will this impact the Mets?
Braves vs Mets Head-to-Head
This is the first time that the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets will square off this year, but these games are already important. More so for the Braves than the Mets as they look to recollect themselves and make up a little bit of ground on the NL East-leading Mets.
In 2021, the teams split fairly close in their 19-game season series, with the Braves barely edging out the Mets 10-9 on the season.

Braves vs Mets Prediction
It shouldn’t be surprising that with their current play the Mets will be strongly favored by the sportsbooks while the Braves flounder in fourth place in the NL East. Playing on their home turf with an excited New York fanbase behind the surging Mets will certainly play an impact as well.
MLB lines will continue to shift towards the Braves being the underdog in more matchups unless they turn their performance around quickly. At the time of this writing, there were no current betting odds available.
When you bet online, take the Mets to cover the runline at home.
