Atlanta Bidding for Two-Game Interleague Sweep
Braves Seek Encore
The Atlanta Braves were able to get the better of the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday, winning 9-7 in 11 innings. The win was a much-needed one for Atlanta, which had lost five out of its last six games.
It was the third straight loss and sixth in seven games for the Red Sox, who are in last place in the American League East.
As we get set for a rematch on the MLB betting odds, which team is the best bet in the sportsbook to get the job done?
Braves Sending Out Wright
The Atlanta Braves narrowly escaped with a victory against Boston on Tuesday, but they’ll take wins anyway they can get them these days. The defending World Series champs are struggling.
They’re still 65-46 and have a four-game lead for a National League wild card spot, but they are still seven games back of the New York Mets in the NL East.
Five runs is the key stat for this team: The Braves are 44-6 when they hit that number. In those six losses, they’ve totaled just 15 runs.
They will be starting Kyle Wright on the mound and he’s 13-5, which is tied for the second-best record in the league. He’s also holding a 3.22 ERA and 124 strikeouts across 128.2 innings.
Wright lost his last appearance to the New York Mets after pitching six innings and allowing six runs. However, the Braves had won 10 out of his previous 11 outings. Those who bet online hope that he can get right back into his rhythm here.
Pivetta Gets Nod for Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox are sitting in last place in their division by a solid 4½ games. This has been a bad year and motivation starts to become a question.
The Red Sox will give the ball to Nick Pivetta . He is 8-8 with a 4.51 ERA, but his last few performances haven’t gone too well.
He’s lost both of them after pitching 10. innings and allowing seven runs. The Braves bat .383 against him. Travis D’Arnaud is at .750, Robbie Grossman has a pair of hits in both at-bats and Austin Riley is at .333 against Pivetta.
Braves vs Red Sox Head-to-Head
These two teams have only met up against one another three times this year, with the Braves winning two of them.

Braves vs Red Sox Prediction
Wright and the Braves are favored in this one but a total might be a better play. We’ve seen Wright pitch at a high level and it doesn’t appear that his recent loss against the New York Mets will haunt him here.
His pitching could give them a massive advantage over a Red Sox squad that has had a lot of trouble lately.
Boston has allowed 27 runs over its last three games alone, which doesn’t bode well against a Braves team that has hit the second-most home runs.
Atlanta looks like the better choice for your MLB picks but over also looks good. The Braves have had great success against Pivetta, so their bats should lead the way.
