Picks, Prediction for Brewers vs Blue Jays on Wednesday, May 31
The Milwaukee Brewers and starter Adrian Houser got knocked around on Tuesday by the Toronto Blue Jays en route to a 7-2 loss. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Alejandro Kirk each tallied three hits while Brandon Belt and Cavan Biggio reached base three times as the Blue Jays snapped a four-game losing streak at the Rogers Centre.
The MLB odds for Wednesday’s Game 2 list the Blue Jays as favorites on the moneyline to go up two games to none.

Brewers Struggling to Widen Gap in NL Central
The Milwaukee Brewers may be atop the National League Central, but their lead is shrinking daily. The Pittsburgh Pirates are on their heels with a one-game gap between first and second while the Cincinnati Reds are three games back in third.
As underdogs on the road, the Brewers are 10-7 against the MLB lines and 4-6 against the spread (ATS) in their previous 10 road games.
Blue Jays Snap Home Slide
The Toronto Blue Jays took a much-needed win on Tuesday after losing four in a row at home. But the fact remains that Toronto is 3-7 against the spread in their previous 10 games at Rogers Centre. Tuesday was a nice change of pace but not the norm for the Blue Jays.
As home favorites on the MLB betting board, the Blue Jays are just 7-12 (36.8%) and make for a risky MLB bet on Wednesday with a struggling starter on the mound.
Starting Pitchers
Julio Teheran (0-1, 1.80 ERA) vs Alek Manoah (1-5, 5.53)
Julio Teheran steps up for his second start of the season after suffering a loss in his debut on Thursday. However, the righty gave up just one run on four hits over five innings of work. He fanned five and walked one in a very positive first start. Teheran has struggled against this lineup with a .406 batting average versus the current Jays’ hitters. Brandon Belt has done the most damage with a .400 average and two home runs in 20 at-bats.
Despite being favored in this game, the Blue Jays have a liability on the mound in Alek Manoah. The righty is 0-4 in May with a sketchy 6.45 ERA. He hasn’t recorded a win since his first start of the year, and the Blue Jays are on an 0-5 losing streak against the MLB spread when he’s on the mound.
🤡 CLOWN OF THE WEEK – MAY 22
Alek Manoah – never far from controversy, he made a dick of himself again this week. Unprovoked and rocking a 5.15 ERA, he got chirpy at Adam Frazier, triggering a mound visit from his distracted Manager. Problem was, it was a second visit which… pic.twitter.com/lYkN3QYfj6

Brewers vs Blue Jays Head-to Head
The Blue Jays hold a 1-0 season series lead with a win and ATS cover on Tuesday. However, the Brewers won last season’s series 2-1 despite covering just once as underdogs at home.
These teams match up reasonably well. The same cannot be said for Wednesday’s starters. While Teheran has pitched just five innings this season, at least he looked good in limited action. Manhaoh, meanwhile, has been garbage all month, and I see no reason to trust him with my MLB picks today.

Brewers vs Blue Jays Betting Lines
Over/Under Pick
With Manoah sporting an ERA north of 5.50, and terrible numbers against the Brewers, I like this game to soar over the 9½ run total. We eked out a win out on the under in Game 1, but I expect the scoreboard to be lit up in Wednesday’s rematch.
Pick: Over 9½ (-120)
Moneyline Pick
With Manoah on the mound and the Brewers as +140 underdogs, I can’t pass up the value presented for Milwaukee to score a revenge win and tie this series up. Teheran pitched well enough in his season debut that I’m willing to sprinkle a few units on this game in favor of the Brewers.
Pick: Milwaukee Brewers +140
