Brewers Losers of 10 of 12
The Milwaukee Brewers have seriously struggled over their last couple of weeks. They were once 32-18 but have since lost 10 of 12.
During this stretch of poor play, they lost eight straight, a streak that was with a victory over the the Washington Nationals on Sunday.
They have to try and keep that level of play up as they take on the New York Mets, who are one of the better teams in baseball at 40-22.
The Mets have cashed two of their last three versus the MLB odds. Are they going to win as expected or should those who betonline consider the underdog?
Let’s check the latest MLB picks, stats, injury reports, and MLB odds for Brewers vs Mets. We’ve plenty of MLB predictions.
Brewers Need Stronger Pitching
The Mets boast the best batting average in the league at the moment, which means that Milwaukee Brewers needs to be sharp in terms of their efforts on the mound.
Adrian Houser is starting for them in this game and he has a 3-6 record with a mediocre 3.92 ERA. Houser is coming off of a really rough game in a 10-0 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.
To make matters worse, Houser hasn’t been good on the road. In 23.2 innings pitched, he has a 5.32 ERA and has allowed 14 runs compared to 14 strikeouts. If the Brewers hope to win this game, Houser needs to improve those road numbers.
Mets Remain Confident in Themselves
The New York Mets aren’t used to sitting atop the division this “late” in the season but it’s looking good on them right now.
Chris Bassitt is getting the start for the Mets and he is 4-4 with a 4.35 ERA. However, he is tied for the 16th-most strikeouts in the league at 74 in 68.1 innings pitched.
Bassitt’s late two starts didn’t go so well, though, as New York lost both contests on the road by a score of 19-3.
Bassitt tends to be really hit or miss. He’s made four starts where he’s allowed four earned runs or more, and six starts where he’s allowed one run or less. If you’re looking at the MLB betting odds in this one, know that he’s a bit of a Jekyll-Hyde.

Brewers vs Mets Prediction
It’s not shocking to see the Mets heavily favored in the sportsbook. Not only have they proven to be far more consistent, but Milwaukee is seriously struggling to get out of this losing patch.
The pitchers look fairly even in terms of ERA and overall record, which makes this game tight. The problem is laying this type of juice with Bassitt when we don’t know which version of him will show up.
Batting could be the determining factor here, and the Mets have the best batting average in the league. However, the Brewers have blasted off the third-most home runs.
With no clear-cut way to go on the side, the over might be the best play here. There are two good offenses with two questionable pitchers. We should see 10 or more runs in this one.
