Brewers Go for Fifth in Row
In a four-game series between a first-place team and a distant third-place team, it may seem like there is little up for grabs.
But the Milwaukee Brewers will have their fate in their own hands for the next four days as they try to put distance between themselves and the second-place St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Central. The Pittsburgh Pirates stand in their way and they can play spoiler in the NL Central even though, for all intents and purposes, they are effectively out of the race.
Brewers Finding Their Mojo Once Again
The Milwaukee Brewers find themselves on a four-game winning streak as they go to Pittsburgh for a big four-game series with the Pirates that has big implications for the NL Central leaders.
A sweep would be sweet for the Brewers as they try to distance themselves from the Cardinals, who will be in Philadelphia over the weekend. If the Brewers take care of business, they can find themselves in a good position to have a grip on the NL Central by the end of the weekend.
The Brewers are also getting some of their bigger injured players back to active duty. Milwaukee activated Brandon Woodruff from the injured list on Wednesday to start against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Woodruff was dominant in his return. And it couldn’t have come at a better time. The Brewers are searching for their magic again, and they seem to have found it on the back of their pitching staff. They need to keep up the pace and keep the Cardinals in their rear-view mirror.
Continuing the mojo flow is definitely possible against the Pirates, but it will take a team effort as the Brewers power themselves toward a playoff spot. The pitching and offense will have to work in sync and be on their A-game all weekend long, but expect the Brewers to put on a show against the Pirates.
Pirates Head Home
After a rough early week in the nation’s capital, where the Pittsburgh Pirates dropped a pair of one-run games, they managed to escape with an 8-7 win on Wednesday. They now head back home looking to get on a streak of some sort to find their winning ways with their young core. Unfortunately, waiting for Pittsburgh at home is the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers.
The Pirates have been sneaking up and beating teams with a new group of upcoming stars from the minor leagues. Now they can play spoiler in the NL Central and have a major impact on the leaders and the race for the division crown.
Although the Pirates’ rankings when it comes to offense and pitching are some of the worst, they can sneak up and beat you. That is what they are looking to do this weekend with the Brewers.
Brewers vs Pirates Head-to-Head
This will be the third series of the 2022 season between the teams. In six games, the Brewers are a perfect 6-0 against the Pirates and will look to be 10-0 by the end of the weekend series.

Brewers vs Pirates Prediction
The sportsbooks have the Brewers as -120 favorites while the Pirates are listed as +110 underdogs. There is some surprise that the odds do not have more of a gap in them, but that is probably due to the pitching matchup.
When looking at the MLB lines, it would be safer to stay away from the runlines for either team due to their inability to perform well against iy. Both teams are well under .500 against the run line.
When you bet online, take the moneyline win by the Brewers -120.
