Rays Seek Fourth Win in Row
The Milwaukee Brewers just fought their way out of a very tough series against the Toronto Blue Jays. They managed to win two of the three games, outscoring them 19-16.
On the strength of that stretch, they’re rolling into Tampa Bay having won three of four and sitting atop the National League Central. The Rays just dominated a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, winning each of those contests.
With both teams playing well, which team is the best bet versus the MLB betting odds when they open their series on Tuesday?
Let’s check the latest MLB picks, stats, MLB news, injury reports, and MLB odds for Brewers vs Rays. We’ve plenty of MLB predictions.
Brewers Looking for Another Strong Pitching Game
The Milwaukee Brewers are rolling with Brandon Woodruff on the mound for the series opener. Woodruff has been battling a hand injury and hasn’t pitched since the end of May.
He is 5-3 with a below-average 4.74 ERA. At home, Woodruff is a perfect 4-0 with a 1.59 ERA and 29 strikeouts.
All of those numbers decrease on the road. His record dips to 1-3, his ERA takes a wild jump to 8.14 and his strikeouts fall to 24.
Milwaukee is holding out hope that he can turn around his road struggles against the Rays.
Rays Eye More Consistency
The Tampa Bay Rays seem to struggle to get both their bats and pitching going at the same time. The Rays are fourth in the league in terms of team ERA. On the other side, they have fallen down to 23rd in team batting average.
These stats have shown up in their recent games. They didn’t score over seven runs once in three games against the Pirates, but didn’t allow them to break five, either.
We still don’t know who the Rays will be going with on the mound. However, they must continue their strong pitching while starting to get something going in the batting order.
Brewers vs Rays Head-to-Head
This will be the first time that these two squads have met this season.

Brewers vs Rays Prediction
Both teams are coming off strong series wins but in completely different ways. The Brewers scored 19 runs in their last three against the Blue Jays while the Rays held Pittsburgh to 11 runs in that same three-game span.
Tampa Bay could be a pretty good pick here in this game, especially if Woodruff isn’t returning at 100 percent following the hand injury.
It’s tough to handicap the game in the sportsbook without knowing the Rays starter yet. However, the Rays could take advantage and claim this one, so take them with your MLB picks.
