Cash on our Best Prop Bets Sept. 16 for the Astros vs Royals

The Houston Astros may be in first place in the AL West, but even they put up duds occasionally. Friday night was one such occasion, with the lowly Kansas City Royals winning 4-2 as MLB ATS underdogs.

Despite the lack of overall talent on the Royals, there are some diamonds in the rough, such as Bobby Witt Jr.  We only need one player to cash in a player prop, and Witt is our guy today for KC.

Bobby Witt Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases (-109)

Our first prop bet features a streaking hitter, a slumping pitcher, and some valuable MLB betting lines to exploit on Saturday.

Witt enters Saturday with the highest batting average in the MLB over the last seven days at .429 with an OBP of .482 and five runs scored. He got on base an additional four times due to walks.

With nine hits in his last five games, Witt’s MLB odds to go over 1.5 bases are very attractive at -109.

Not only does Witt’s recent success give me a lot of confidence in this MLB bet, but J.P. France has hit a wall and has been very shaky since the start of August. His ERA is 8.53 over his previous four starts thanks to allowing ten runs to the Red Sox in 2 ⅓ innings last at the end of August.

Jose Altuve 2+ Bases (+146)

Jose Altuve has been excellent after missing a few weeks in July with an injury. Betting on him has yielded a lot of positive results on our MLB prop bets. So, if it ain’t broken, why fix it?

I will admit that Altuve has cooled significantly after hitting .354 last month, with his average at .255 in his previous 47 at-bats. He also went 0-for-4 in Friday’s series opener and is 0-for-7 in his previous seven plate appearances.

Despite his mini-slump, Altuve is an elite hitter with a great matchup against Cole Ragans on Saturday.
