Red Sox Look to Bounce Back in Game Two

The White Sox took the series opener by a 4-3 margin

The Chicago White Sox look to continue their winning ways against Boston in the second game of three from Progressive Rate Field. The team held off the Red Sox in the late innings to win the opener by one run.

The White Sox are in great shape for the playoffs, but the Boston Red Sox need every win they can get with under 20 remaining in the season. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET. Dylan Cease will throw for Chicago, but Boston has not determined a pitcher.

MLB odds have the White Sox as favorites on the sportsbook with a money line of -175. The Red Sox are +155 to win, and the over/under has been set at 9 ½ runs. For MLB picks and parlays, visit BETUS Sportsbook.

Game One Goes to the White Sox

The Red Sox fell short of victory in the series opener because of two individuals. Carlos Rodon threw five great innings for Chicago, and Jose Abreu had a three-run shot to give his team the advantage.

Luis Robert added an RBI single to give the team four runs. The Red Sox made a late push in the seventh inning, but Chicago’s two All-Star pitchers, Craig Kimbrel and Liam Hendriks, shut the door in the final two innings.

Boston lost for the fourth time in five games, and things are continuing to get worse. It was just announced that Chris Sale would go onto the COVID-19 injured list. Nevertheless, Xander Bogaerts is back in the lineup for the team.

Cora spoke about the problems his team was facing after the game. He said, “It’s unfortunate, but he’ll be back. He feels good. We kept battling. That’s a good baseball game right there.”

The Playoff Race

There will be many changes down the stretch of the season, but if things ended today, the Wild Card would be running through Boston. The team needs to fend off the Yankees and Blue Jays. Out of all the clubs, Toronto could be the most dangerous at this time after sweeping the Yankees in New York over four games.

The White Sox have nearly clinched a playoff berth. They will win the American League Central and likely play the Houston Astros in the ALDS.

Who Wins?

The Red Sox have a great chance to win. Cease has been good in 2021 with a 3.87 ERA, but he is not Rodon. The Red Sox are slim with pitching, and not having Sale hurts.

Yet, Bogaerts being back in the lineup is going to help the team generate some production at the plate. The combination of Bogaerts with Hunter Renfroe and Rafael Devers should be a promising combination.

If you are looking to bet online, lock up the Red Sox on the money line through BETUS Sportsbook. MLB lines favor the White Sox, but Boston’s value is too good to pass up in this contest.

For the Red Sox to win, they will need to keep the White Sox scoring down, and this will not be easy. However, with the right mix of bullpen options and the injury to Tim Anderson, I like their chances.

Pick: Boston Red Sox ML (+155)
