Dodgers Coasting
Although the Los Angeles Dodgers are still in first place in the National League West, leading San Diego by six games, there’s an argument that this team could still be much better. The Dodgers were projected be one of the top teams in baseball, and although they have been, there are still times when they come out flat and don’t perform the way many were expecting.
The Chicago Cubs , on the other hand, are among the worst teams in baseball. Although they’ve won seven of 10 games before Thursday’s loss to Los Angeles, they are 15 games under .500.
Tyler Anderson is going to be on the mound for the Dodgers while Keegan Thompson starts for the Cubs.
Let’s check the latest MLB news, stats, injury reports, and MLB odds for Cub vs Dodgers. We’ve plenty of MLB picks & predictions.
Should Be Easy for Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers could have a difficult task on hand just because of how well the Cubs have played recently, but the reality of the situation is that they should come out and take care of business with ease. A major reason for the Dodgers’ success is their 2.90 team ERA, which ranks first in baseball.
They’ve also been elite offensively, having the ninth most home runs with 103 and are also hitting .253 as a team to rank sixth.
Anderson has done a great job throughout his career against the current Chicago Cubs lineup. He’s held hitters to a .234 batting average and has a strikeout percentage above 21%.
Cubs Have Been Hot
The Chicago Cubs were playing well before arriving in Los Angeles. Although they’ve looked good throughout the 10-game stretch, they took down teams that aren’t nearly as good as the Dodgers.
With Thompson getting the start here, the Cubs should feel someone confident. He’s held hitters in the Dodgers’ lineup to just a .167 batting average and has a strikeout percentage of 22.7%.
Cubs vs Dodgers Head-to-Head
