We nailed two of three offerings for you on Wednesday night and nearly had a perfect effort, just missing out on the correct category in which Shohei Ohtani would make an impact. But we knew he would, and he did, and now the Dodgers are on the verge of taking complete control of the Mets. Let’s take a shot at three more NLCS Game 4 picks, as well as a quick take on the ALCS contest.

3 MLB Picks to Bet in NLCS Game 4
1. Hard to Dodge Dodgers
We have to take a step back right now and digest just how dominant the Dodgers have been for the past week. Ever since Fernando Tatis Jr. went deep in the second inning of Game 3 of the NLDS in San Diego, Los Angeles has outscored opponents by a whopping 34-7 margin.
It’s not as if they’re playing the Marlins and Nationals on a June homestand here. They’re crushing, with the exception of a Game 2 loss to the Mets, first the best team in baseball in the second half (San Diego) and the best team in baseball since the end of May (New York).
It feels a bit odd to say it right now, amid an incredible streak of zeros put up by Dodger pitching, but that’s where it felt as if the Mets had an advantage in this series. But Yoshinobu Yamamoto is coming off a fantastic outing in the NLDS clincher and finally looked like the guy who controlled matters early in the season before a lengthy IL stint.
New York has punched back with best of them all postseason, and for much of the regular season. We cannot discount them rebounding in Game 4, but we’re even more stunned at how dominant this Dodgers stretch has been. For that reason, we start with a simple bet online for LA to win.

2. Quintana a Question Mark?
It’s hard to go against a guy pitching as well as Jose Quintana is for the Mets. He has not allowed an earned run in six of his last eight starts dating back to the regular season, a stretch in which he’s gone 4-1 with a hard-to-fathom 0.57 ERA.
Because of this incredibly dominant span, the MLB spreads will lean in favor of a solid outing for the veteran lefty. And because of that, going against the grain could pay off for bettors if and when a potent lineup like the Dodgers breaks through.
Consider this. Quintana had three starts this year in which he allowed five extra-base hits. All three of them were at home, where opponents slugged 115 points higher (.454 to .339) than they did on the road against him. And one of those three was against the Dodgers with Shohei Ohtani not in the lineup.
Current LA hitters are batting a combined .299 with loads of walks against Quintana in his career. See if you can find some overs on the southpaw (runs, hits allowed) or perhaps some unders (strikeouts, innings) if he’s unable to get too deep.
Bet on Jose Quintana to Allow at Least Two Earned Runs (-271)
3. Once Again, Bet on Mets vs Dodgers Over
We’re wondering if/when the Las Vegas odds makers will start raising the over/under for this series. We recommended an over at 7½ yesterday and that came through. Sure, it was tight and we needed plenty of late scoring, but let’s get an update on some numbers we provided to you Wednesday. Dodgers games this postseason have seen at least eight runs scored seven of eight times. For the Mets? Eight out of 10 times.
It’s certainly possible that Yamamoto fires a gem like he did in the clincher against San Diego. And, as mentioned, Quintana has been spectacular in these playoffs. But these offenses keep showing breakout ability. The Dodgers are averaging 5.5 runs in the playoffs and the Mets are at 4.5, even with two shutout losses in this series, and the over/under is set at seven runs.
Bet on Dodgers vs Mets Over 7 Runs (-120)
Questions Of The Day
What is a quick bet online we can take in the Yankees-Guardians game?
It might seem a little too on point to jump on Aaron Judge after he homered the other night, but he’s been flirting with a breakout for a few games and now gets to face Matthew Boyd. Judge is 2-for-6 with a homer and five walks against zero strikeouts in 11 plate appearances against Boyd. Safe to say he sees the ball well coming out of the lefty’s hand.
