The season is winding down, and the Arizona Diamondbacks are trying to hold on to a Wild Card spot. They will face the Chicago White Sox, a team whose season has been long over. Let’s take a look at our MLB odds for Sept. 27.
Currently, the Diamondbacks are tied for the last Wild Card spot in the National League, and winning this series could go a long way in securing it.

Zach Davies (2-5, 6.81 ERA) vs Jose Urena (0-6, 7.27)
Diamondbacks’ Zach Davies has struggled after spending half of July and most of August on the injured list. While Arizona has won in his last four starts, Davies struggled in his previous three outings, not making it past the fourth inning and allowing 11 runs through 11 innings.
Jose Urena joined the White Sox after a difficult season with the Colorado Rockies, only making five appearances in April. He made his first appearance for Chicago on Sept. 9. It has been a mixed bag for Urena, with his first start looking solid, allowing one run in four innings. However, he gave up six runs and three homers in 6.1 innings in his next outing. Urena’s last start was solid, giving up one run in six innings and allowing only four base runners.
Both starters struggling throughout the season can open up some options for the best player props this week.
Diamondbacks Closing In on Wild Card Spot
The Diamondbacks have hit a decent run of play, improving their MLB odds for the playoffs. The Los Angeles Dodgers already have the division locked up, so the only route for Arizona is through the Wild Card.
The Diamondbacks are in a great position after sweeping the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants, two teams in the Wild Card conversation. Next came the New York Yankees, but the Diamondbacks failed to continue their solid play, losing the series.
Our MLB spreads are leaning toward the Diamondbacks in this matchup, and against Urena on the mound, it’s just a matter of looking for the game’s best prop bets. There is a good chance that one of the Diamondbacks hitters will take him deep. The question is, which one? Christian Walker has been the team’s power bat with 31 home runs and seems like a prime candidate.
First White Sox Series Win Long Time
Before beating the Boston Red Sox in two of three games, it had been a while since the White Sox won a series. The last series they didn’t lose was back on Aug. 27, splitting a four-game set with the Oakland Athletics. The last series win was against the Cleveland Guardians on Aug. 5.

Even in their two wins against the Red Sox, the White Sox only managed four runs. On top of that, their best hitter, Luis Robert Jr., who could have been an MLB best prop bet for Sept. 27 to hit a homer off Davies, is now injured. He hit three homers with six runs batted in over the last six games.

Diamondbacks vs White Sox Best Bet
Expect a solid offensive day, with neither pitcher coming into this game with much confidence. However, neither team’s lineup has shown the skill to handle poor pitching. The Diamondbacks have at least shown the ability to win games and should be able to keep stacking wins heading into a Wild Card spot.
