Both Teams Struggling
It’s interesting that the Cleveland Guardians have struggled to start the season considering that they have a decent amount of talent, but it’s no surprise that the Detroit Tigers are one of the worst teams in baseball.
Cleveland enters Friday’s game against the Tigers at 18-23 and has only managed to win three out of its last 10 games. Detroit, on the other hand, is right behind the Guardians in the American League Central standings with a 16-28 record and has won five out of its last 10.
Right-hander Shane Bieber is going to be on the bump for Cleveland while Alex Faedo is going to get the start for Detroit.

Guardians Should Be Better
When looking at a roster that has guys like Jose Ramirez, Bieber, Emmanuel Clase and a few other high-level players, the Cleveland Guardians should certainly be better.
They ended up losing the first game of this series and that’s not a great sign for them. With Bieber getting the start here, the Guardians should feel highly confident about winning this game. He’s held hitters in the current Detroit Tigers lineup to a .223 batting average and has done so in a huge sample size. He also has a strikeout percentage above 30 percent and considering that the Tigers do strikeout at an above-average level, this is the perfect time for Bieber to continue being one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Tigers Want Repeat Performance
The Detroit Tigers don’t have much talent on their roster, despite some of their off-season move. They were, however, able to come away with an impressive Game 1 win and are looking to do the exact same thing on Friday.
With Faedo getting the start here for the Detroit Tigers, this could be a tough game for them to win. Hitters in the current Cleveland Guardians lineup have hit over .330 against him and have an average exit velocity of 92.4 mph. Faedo has had a great start to the season and is 1-1 with a 1.33 WHIP and a 3.00 ERA. If he can continue pitching just like he has throughout his first four starts, this could be a time that the Tigers do win another game.

Guardians vs Tigers Prediction
The MLB betting odds have the Cleveland Guardians coming into this one as a favorite on the moneyline at -151 and the Tigers as the underdog at +136. Because Bieber is going to be on the mound here, the best pick is taking the Cleveland Guardians to win this game outright.
The Guardians have struggled offensively for parts of the season, but if they’re able to tack together a few runs in this one, there should be no reason why they lose his ball game. The Tigers did play a great game on Thursday, but this Guardians team is much more talented and that should take over on Friday.
When betting online, take the Cleveland Guardians on the moneyline.
