The Minnesota Twins can clinch a series victory with a win over the Guardians on Saturday. Minnesota erupted for 12 runs in Game 1 to earn the victory. They currently lead the AL Central with the White Sox and Guardians trailing close behind. Both of these teams have played fairly well to start the season, so before you make a bet online on this Game 2 affair, check out our in-depth preview of the ballgame.
Guardians Bats are Hot, Pitching is Not
The Guardians hit the ball well in Friday’s 12-8 loss against Minnesota. Cleveland finished eight runs on nine hits in the contest. But it was not enough to overcome their pitching struggles.
Jose Ramirez, Amed Rosario, and Oscar Mercado all tallied two hits in the ballgame. Cleveland also smashed three home runs. Oddly enough, each HR came from the bottom of the lineup, with Andres Gimenez, Mercado, and Austin Hedges all leaving the yard.
But Aaron Civale and Bryan Shaw combined to surrender 11 runs, all earned. Civale has labored all year long in the rotation, and there are stirrings about a replacement down the road. The same can be said about Shaw in the bullpen.
Minnesota Swings Its Way To Victory
The Twins’ bats carried them to a win on Friday. Royce Lewis hit his first career home run, a grand slam, to propel the Twins to the victory. The Twins are the bettings odds Vegas favorites at home following their huge performance.
As an offense, they tallied 12 runs on 13 total hits. They hit four home runs as a team, with Lewis, Byron Buxton, Jorge Polanco, and Gary Sanchez all clubbing round-trippers.
Sonny Gray lasted 4.1 innings. The right-hander struck out eight and allowed just two earned runs. However, the bullpen would go on to surrender six more runs giving Cleveland eight.
But the Twins made sure that the Guardians could not catch them as they just kept scoring.

Cleveland Guardians vs Minnesota Twins Prediction
The Guardians will turn to ace Shane Bieber (1-2, 4.13) while the Twins will send Dylan Bundy (3-2, 5.76) to the mound. Bieber has been far from excellent but he provides Cleveland with a pitching matchup advantage in this affair.
The Guardians should be able to rebound in Game 2 of the series.
