Lucas Giolito Looks to Right the Ship for the White Sox
The Cleveland Guardians will be taking on the Chicago White Sox in an American League Central matchup. The Guardians are sending righty Cal Quantrill to the mound as he is coming off a no-decision against the San Diego Padres where he went six innings and gave up three runs on three hits with five walks and seven strikeouts.
The White Sox have righty Lucas Giolito taking the mound and he is coming off a win over the Chicago Cubs where he finished with 5.2 innings while giving up three runs on three hits with two walks and a season-high 10 strikeouts.
The Cleveland Guardians are looking to prove they are still the powerhouse they can be this season in the AL Central. Cleveland has gotten off to a hot start at the plate as they are fourth in MLB with a .726 OPS as a team and have scored 5.14 runs per game thus far.
Third baseman Jose Ramirez has been doing well at the plate as he is fifth in the majors with a 1.013 OPS with seven home runs and 30 RBI with 19 walks and 10 strikeouts this year. His play helps the scores and odds of the Guardians go up. He has stolen three bases so if he can continue playing at an MVP level, it will do wonders for the Guardians as a whole.
Josh Naylor nailed a grand slam in the 9th inning in Monday’s game against the Sox. Teammate Franmil Reyes said, “That was amazing. A legendary moment.”
White Sox Need to Step Up
The Chicago White Sox have to improve as they have not been able to do well hitting or in the field in the first month of the regular season. Chicago has struggled offensively this season as they are 24th in baseball with a .631 OPS as a team and have scored 3.38 runs per game thus far.
Shortstop Tim Anderson has been doing well so far as he has a .878 OPS with four home runs and 10 RBI while also stealing four bases without being caught. His ability to run the bases well helps sports bets be more of a lock. He has to continue doing well if the White Sox want to keep their head above water.
Guardians vs White Sox Head-to-Head
This will be the fifth time already this season that these two teams will square off, making some MLB picks a little easier to develop. Cleveland is a perfect 4-0 so far against Chicago and is taking advantage of a struggling team that’s expected to be a top team in baseball.
With MLB live betting being so prevalent, it would be good to wait an inning or two before hitting the MLB lines on this game. Cal Quantrill has some control issues but should be able to shut down an underperforming lineup while Lucas Giolito is going to have a tough time against the Guardians that are clicking to open up the regular season.
Cleveland has won all four meetings so far and looks like the better and healthier team. All in all, expect the Cleveland Guardians to keep this game close and be able to keep it within two runs here.
